Ok. I will be brutally insistent. Thank you, sir. Brian Spencer / iPad On Mar 31, 2013, at 8:59 PM, "Ashton Hayward" <mayorhayward@cityofpensacola.com> wrote: Let's get together tomorrow Councilman. He likely meant April 1-3. Just an FYI. He (Clyde) must have your directive (insistence) to include me in order for me to responsibly report to the affected property and business owners that CONTINUE to be affected by this inability to use the ONSHORE power that we (City) co-funded. I don't understand the tolerance of prolonged excuses to our adversely affected port neighbors. We tout being the closest port of call for this Gulf oil-based support industry, yet we don't seem to close the gap. How can your " yes" regarding my attendance at a meeting have more bite? The nearby residents, tenants, and business owners are rightfully wary of excuses. B Brian K. In addition to my involvement, I suggest this meeting include the onshore power project electrical engineer from Hatch Mott McDonald as well as the Gulf Power engineers that were assigned to this project approx. a year ago. I recall the previous berthing of the Global 1200 provided the opportunity to identify the incompatibility and overcome the known obstacle before a return to the Port of Pensacola. I look forward to your response. Brian

Yes, on that particular ship there are some difficulties with hooking up to the shore power. We currently plan to berth her at Berth 6 on the southwest side to minimize effects from generators. We will work with the vessel engineer on this visit to try and solve the shore connection issues. There was information put out that the vessel would be in port for one month. However, latest report I got was a port call of 6 days or so. I will say that their plans are always a fluid, moving target, but that is the latest. On another note, the dredge vessel Bayport that is in port now is hooked up to shore power. Best Regards, Clyde

Hello Clyde, I saw that the Global 1200 will be here next week for at least a month. Can you tell me if you have the system in place for shore power. I thought there was some problem getting her hooked up last year, just hoping that would be rectified by now. Sure would be nice if they could turn the generators off this visit. Thanks for your help, Iven.
