I AM STILL IN FLORIDA?!

I cannot believe it has been almost a year since I packed up 4 boxes and 2 suitcases and moved to Florida to plant Shoreline Church. It has been the most growing year of my life. Filled with trials, hardships, joys and celebrations. I am completely blessed that the Lord called me down here. There have been plenty of moments where I wanted to give up and go home, yet I know that the Spirit is moving here in South Florida. There is a movement and a momentum and I cannot believe I get to be a part of this.

WHAT HAVE I BEEN UP TO?

These past months have been overwhelmingly crazy for me. We hit the ground running. When people say church planting is a marathon not a sprint- I think they forgot to tell me to practice running before I got here:) When I moved here to be the kids director I had no idea I would also add admin, student small group leader, college small group leader, and anything else anyone needed to the list of things to do. I have had the opportunity to meet amazing people, and getting to speak into their lives has been life changing.

I am staying because I can see what the Lord is doing in this city, and I can see how He is using me to do it. I can see from the college group I co-lead where students come week after week and share their stories with such vulnerability. I can see from the community that started with just me, to the dozens of people that do game night every single week. I can see Him moving in the lives of the girls I meet with, I see Him moving in the smiles on the kids faces as they raise their hands and worship. I am staying because I cannot deny that the Spirit is at work here. I love Portland with every ounce of my being, but I know I am walking in His ways by staying here.

WHO IS SHORELINE?
Together, as a team, we are committed to building a church that doesnt settle inside the comfort of four walls but is active in supporting its community.

Shoreline Church Launched September 16th, 2012. Our purpose is simple: Love God and love people. Our passion is for God and our passion is for people. Our heart is for God and our heart is for people. There are no hidden agendas. This will be a church thats healthy; A church thats strong and united; The kind of church where people are the priority; Where people feel accepted and valued; A community known by its love and extreme generosity. Momentum has been building and were seeing Gods favor. There are already over 150 people who call Shoreline their church home. We have been pro-active in serving local schools, neighborhoods, and kids who are in need. Its already clear not even a year here why God has sent us here.

WHY WEST PALM?

Good question. Palm Beach County has 1.4 million residents. Of that number, 1.3 million people have no connection to God. Wed like to change that! Further studies revealed this is a community of young families and single moms; those with abundant wealth but are suicidal; those in extreme poverty and do not know where their next meal will come from. We believe these 1.4 million people have the same thing in common: each and every one of them need to experience the love and hope of God that is found through Jesus.

MY HEART

One of the reasons I love Shoreline so much, is because of the heart of relationships. I get to meet with guys and girls week after week, hear stories and let the Spirit speak into their lives. I get to hug littles and pray over them at such a young age. I have got to see kids and adults alike get baptized, worship, come alive in Jesus, awaken to who they are created to be, I have seen strongholds given up, and worthiness called out. I have been apart of an amazing team and am so glad to be able to be on sta at Shoreline Church.

HAITI

I have had the amazing opportunity of having amazing friends from Portland come visit me in West Palm. Two of my visitors were Kyle and Christel Schlabach. Ever sense the earthquakes in Haiti in 2010 Kyle has been leading teams through Solid Rock to help rebuild and build relationships. I have heard story after story of life change, of amazing littles and community. The opportunity has presented itself for me to join in with Solid Rock and be apart of the team going on June 21st-29th. I am so excited to be able to serve the people of Haiti and build relationships with the people there. From cleaning to VBS, I simply cannot wait to ask questions and know each persons story. I believe so much in giving life back into the communities of Haiti, and doing this alongside Solid Rock is a blessing.

This year has been hard for so many reasons and nancially it has been the toughest year of my life. I have said goodbye to close friends, great jobs, and an amazing home. When I moved from Portland I left everything that I knew and all that was comfortable. I even gave up the security of a consistent paycheck. As a new church, there simply isnt the budget for a salary yet. I have gotten multiple jobs on top of my Shoreline responsibilities but balancing everything has been dicult. I wholeheartedly believe that God has called me to serve the Palm Beach community. Without nancial support from others such as yourself, Shoreline would not be possible. My trip to Haiti will cost $1,650 and my monthly needed budget is $2,000. Would you consider keeping me and sending me? Heres how you can help me help others.

PLEASE PRAY.

Prayer changes everything and moves the hand of God. Would you commit to pray for me, Shorelines leadership team, and the people of Palm Beach, and the trip to Haiti June 21st-29th? Some specic things to pray for: The trip to Haiti will be the rst Sunday since Shoreline started that I will not be there- crazy yes, but please be praying over our serve team, and that everything ows so smoothly. My heart increases every day for the people of Shoreline, please pray for time to meet with ladies to hear their stories and allow them to feel seen, known, loved and valued. I have been getting Spiritually attacked right and left in this season, and I need strength to wake up every morning and ght the good ght. People to experience hope in Jesus. Please pray against all fear. For vision. For encounters with Jesus. Financial provision. Please pray that the people of West Palm would have a hunger for the Word. My car decides to shake and rattle often, as well as the ac just went out so just for provision in that area. Would you pray these verses over Shoreline and the trip in Haiti. Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any aectation and compassion, make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaing the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose. -Philippians 2.1-2 For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be lled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously giving thanks to the Father, who has qualied us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light.For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.- Colossians 1.9-14

I cannot begin to even express to you, what your support has been like over these past months. From those in Portland and other states cheering me on, to the ones that join in on Shoreline every week, I am blessed beyond words to be able to call you family, and my supporters. I think no other woman has it better than I do. Thank you for praying over me, speaking life to me, giving to me nancially, sending me cards, and visiting. Thank you for shooting me encouraging emails, and phone calls. I simply could not do this without you and I would refuse to. You each mean so much to me, and getting to walk out life with you is a joy that I feel Paul sums up so well, I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always oering prayer with joy in my every prayer for you. Philippians 1.3-4. Please know that I pray for you often. That I pray over your community, your family, your kids. I pray over big and small decisions. I want to walk out life with each of you my entire life, and I hope you give me the opportunity to do that. I would love nothing more than to receive an email back telling me how you are an update on your life- because to me- that is the most important thing. Yes, I need help and prayer, the Spirit may spur that in some of you- but what I want more than anything is to continue to know you. I love you, Brittany
