Christians of believing in God as Unity


God as a Unity means one God. Monotheism means a belief in one God. Gods Unity helps us understand the power and importance of God because there is only one God and Christians should worship him. It is important because it is written in the Bible and Catholic Creed. Jesus told us to worship one God.

Believing in the Trinity


Christians believe in the Unity of God and also that God is a Trinity. Trinity = The Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Gods Trinity helps us understand his activity in the world. It is written in the Creed, Catechism and Bible.

God the Father


Believing God as Father means Christians can have a relationship with God like they can with a human father. It also means that God will love, care and provide for them. Like a human father God created us and looks after us now. It is written in the Bible, Creed and Catechism.

God the Creator


Christians believe God is the creator of the universe and all things in it. This means life is good and has meaning and purpose given by God. Being creator it shows Gods love, power and relationship towards us. As God created the world we know it is holy and therefore should look after it and be stewards to the earth.

Jesus is the Son of God


Jesus is the Son of God and therefore Jesus was born both fully God and fully human. Incarnation He was conceived by the Holy Spirit. God on Earth. His example and teachings show how God wants us to live. It explains the special relationship between God and Jesus Jesus life and death brings us salvation and eternal life.

The Holy Spirit


The Holy Spirit is the third part of the Trinity. The Holy Spirit is how God communicates with the world. The Holy Spirit should be worshiped alongside the Father and the Son. Inspired the Bible. Guides the Church Purifies sin Gives us the presence of God. A part of the Sacraments.

Salvation From Sin


Sin is what separates people from God. People who die with un forgiven sins will not go to heaven. Jesus death brought salvation from sin and the promise of eternal life. Salvation makes peoples life a holy life. We can repent our sins to God through reconciliation and the sacraments.

Love of God
Central to Christian beliefs Jesus said Love of God is the greatest commandment. It leads you to living a good and loving life. Love of God in your career. Love of God by going to Mass Praying and worshipping him Reading the Bible.

Teachings on loving others


Love your neighbour is the second greatest commandment ( Mark 12;29-31) Loving others means helping anyone in trouble, as seen in the Good Samaritan who helped an enemy in trouble. The sheep and the Goats where we are meant to help all people and those who do not help others will go to hell.

Love expressed in a religious life- Contemplative nuns


They spend their lives in prayer and study. They take the evangelical councils (vows) Of Poverty Chastity obedience These nuns follow the Carmelite rule meaning they meditate daily on the word of God. Celebrate the Eucharist and do manual work.

Love expressed in a religious life- Active nuns


The active life is one that shows love for God and others by a life of prayer, but also by working in the world, for example the Missionaries of Charity nurse and care for the poor. A monastic life dedicated to helping the poor like Mother Teresa.

Christian church show love to God and each other


A Catholic church shows love of God by being a place of worship of God and providing the Mass and the Sacraments. A Catholic Church shows love of others by helping parents raise their children as good Catholics, by helping the needy through SVP and CAFOD groups and by providing social facilities.
