Turbo Ring
Enabling Ring and Media Redundancy
Turbo Ring is a proprietary self-healing protocol that enables fast fault recovery under 20 ms at a full load of 250 switches. Turbo Ring supports three topology optionsring-coupling, dualring, and dual homingto increase network operability, reduce redundant cabling and eliminate planning cost, all while ensuring seamless availability for your industrial network applications.
Fast fault recovery < 20 ms Flexible ring topology Lower total cost of ownership
Ring Coupling Topology Instead of one big ring, a ring couple helps separate distributed devices into smaller redundant rings with no control lines but increased flexibility and efficiency.

Turbo Roaming
Sub-50 ms Fast Secure Connectivity
Designed for real-time connectivity, Moxa's client-enabled Turbo Roaming unifies AP channels while roaming to reduce handover delay to under 100 ms. Turbo Roaming can become even faster with the addition of a wireless controller, which performs preauthentication and accelerates roaming to under 50 ms.

Turbo Chain is a highly flexible self-healing Ethernet technology designed to optimize distributed and complex industrial networks that require fast Ethernet recovery of under 20 ms. This breakthrough technology can create multiple redundant networks: simply define a head and tail switch to quickly and easily add a redundant network segment.
Fast fault recovery < 20 ms Unlimited redundant network expansions Live node expansion without network interruptions Tremendous savings on cabling costs
Moxa uses dual radio technology that transmits concurrent wireless signals on two distinct channels to ensure interferencefree communication within 802.11 standards. When combined with Moxas wired Ethernet redundancy technology and dual power inputs, Moxa's dual radio WLAN solutions ensure optimized availability across the entire network.

When managing complex converged networks, a picture is truly worth a thousand words. Moxa's MXview industrial network management visualizes network management so non-IT experts can see a live topology map that displays edgeto-core network status and a reviewable event history of all connected SNMP devices and physical wired links. Enhanced support for third party devices and management platforms further extends MXview's usefulness in industrial networks composed of both Moxa and third party devices.
Smart Visualization
Edge-to-Core Network Monitoring
MXview renders a live topology graph of physical network links for real-time monitoring and alerts. Operators can simply click on the graphic interface to configure individual devices, monitor network status, or conduct historical log reviews and remote troubleshooting across the entire network.
MXview covers: Managed Ethernet switches Secure routers Wireless APs NPort S8000 device servers Third party SNMPenabled devices
MXviews topological maps provide real-time network status updates, and also record and replay network events. Simply by manipulating a video playback slider, users can quickly search and play back sequential network snapshots, making the investigation of network changes easy and efficient.
To help network operators better manage their assets and improve overall equipment effectiveness, MXview supports inventory and device availability reports that can be exported as PDF or Microsoft Excel-compatible CSV files.
Video Demo
MXview provides a MIB compiler and MIB browser to read and modify thirdparty device MIB objects, giving network managers more control over industrial networks that include devices from multiple vendors.
MXview collects each devices VLAN/ IGMP snooping configuration and integrates the information with colorcoded visualization to provide a network-wide view.
The Config Center enables centralized configuration and firmware management of Moxa networking devices. Users can utilize the file comparison tool to trace configuration changes or restore old configurations.
MXview can extend the reach of network management and collaborate with large network systems by setting trap receivers and sending SNMP traps to up to two other network management software platforms, which may focus on end-to-end service availability rather than physical network connectivity.
MXview performs automatic device discovery and topology detection to plot realistic network layouts, which help users uncover system complexity and identify appropriate operations at a mere glance.
Designed to save time and improve productivity, the latest MXconfig is a mass configuration tool that reduces time-consuming and error-prone configuration tasks by allowing multiple simultaneous device configuration and system file updates. In addition to mass configuration on an initial deployment, network engineers can also easily configure dynamic updates to keep devices secure and up-to-date.
Network managers can get real-time alerts from multiple sources: SMS, email with SNMP inform, trap request packets, as well as external programs.
Device Discovery
Multiple-device Configuration
IP address Redundancy, VLAN Other managed features
MXview also presents a powerful virtual panel that displays the actual front panel of any connected Moxa switch. Engineers can check port connectivity and traffic volume on any remote device.
MXview supports real-time low volume traffic monitoring accurate to four decimal places to fulfill data process requirements on factory floors.

Moxa's redundancy technologies provide millisecond-rate self-healing resilience, and also lower total cost of ownership.
Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain technologies enable media redundancy under 20 ms (@250 switches) without the expense of duplicate hardware. Turbo Chain technology freely creates additional redundant subnets as needed without the expense of ring coupling connections. Best of all, both of the above are free and available to all of Moxa's managed switches.

In smart substations, secondary devices such as IEDs (Intelligent Electronic Devices) are monitored by power SCADA systems via the MMS protocol. Traditional Ethernet switches, however, can only be controlled and monitored via the SNMP protocol. Therefore, substation engineers are required to maintain two different systems for system management and maintenance. With Moxas PT-7528, the worlds first Ethernet switch to support the MMS protocol, you can easily monitor the Ethernet switches along with secondary devices on a single SCADA system, achieving integrated and effortless automation control and management.

FLI Technology increases system availability by automating device and network configuration. It centralizes all of the networks configuration information on a single server, which is also the DHCP server. Every time a device is attached to the network, it will contact the DHCP sever to obtain its appropriate IP address, and then use TFTP to download a device configuration text file to learn its own configuration settings. This automated process means that new or replacement network devices do not need to be manually configured to work with the pre-existing system settings of the network.

Industrial control systems are more vulnerable to cyber attacks than ever because PLCs, RTUs, sensors, SCADA systems, IP cameras, and the communication backbone are becoming more interconnected. A security breach can lead to production losses, critical device damage, or other severe consequences. Moxas industrial Gigabit-performance secure routers are designed to protect the control networks of critical facilities while maintaining fast data transmissions. The EDR series security router is a firewall/NAT/VPN/router all-in-one solution, and is designed for sensitive remote control or monitoring networks. It protects the integrity of remote access and critical devices. For greater integration to protect devices, a router/switch all-in-one option is also available.

Moxa's Solution
Large gas pipelines are highly volatile and cover long distances, so, its important to install of secure remote systems that protect the pipelines from cyber attacks. In the system illustrated above, the gas transfer stations along the pipeline are equipped with gas analyzers and PLCs, and communicate site data to a remote SCADA. Local security and remote data authenticity are very important on this critical network link. Moxas EDR-G903, a Gigabit performance industrial secure router, is used to link transfer stations to the central SCADA via VPN secure tunnels. As a firewall/NAT/VPN all-in-one router, the EDR-G903 shields devices on the internal LAN from unauthorized access and maintains strongly secure communications across public networks.
The EDR provides security at Gigabit speeds, enough bandwidth to support data-hungry applications, and quick mass communications all ithout compromising on network security.
Moxas industrial secure router supports up to two WAN ports for backup connectivity. When the primary WAN port link fails, the secure router will immediately activate the second WAN port to keep the connection active, providing reliable connectivity between central and field sites. (EDR-G903 only)
Moxas secure router features built-in PacketGuard that allows the router to perform deep Modbus TCP protocol inspection. Users can easily create a secure Ethernet Fieldbus network with a single click in the user-friendly PacketGuard web UI.
