TO: All Members of Marian Community RE: CHSF-SWM Re-launching Day on July 16, 2011 (Saturday)

Reminders in the Implementation of CHSF 1. All Academic Deans, Faculty and Staff per schools are requested to direct and monitor their students in their respective assignments for a well-coordinated cleanup day. 2. Everyone is requested to bring cleaning materials such as: garbage bags/sacks, stick/soft brooms, bolos, long brooms for removing cobwebs, pails & rags, ladders, scrapers, soap, brush (steel/plastic), shovel, dust pan, etc on the said date. 3. Lacquer thinners shall be made available to faculty and students who will be assigned to remove vandals/markings on chairs, tables and walls in coordination with the Building Assistant Supervisor. 4. Heads of Offices and their staff are advised to use the same day to do general cleaning in their respective offices. 5. Working scholars are likewise advised to clean their respective room and ground assignments and help in the collection of accumulated wastes. 6. The Student Central Council Officers, Departmental Council Officers, CYO officers and CHSF Brigade officers per school are expected to lead the student body in this endeavor. 7. The canteen managers and SMU Coop are also advised to please join the Marian Community in the clean-up activities on the CHSF Day in their respective area. 8. All personnel and staff are also encouraged to clean their respective offices. 9. Please be reminded further on the proper segregation of accumulated wastes. Please be guided by the following:

a. Biodegradable waste such as grasses/grass trimmings, twigs, branches, fruit & vegetable peeling, etc. be dumped in windrows at gate 3 at the back of MRF/MRU building and at the back of Tonus gym toilets/comfort rooms. b. Recyclable waste such as pet bottles and other plastics, papers (white/brown), newspapers, magazines, folders, cartons, cardboard/illustration boards, all tin cans, iron/scrap iron, aluminum, bottles (glass), etc. be brought to MRU/MRF. c. Non-biodegradable waste such as plastics, sando bags, candy wrappers, plastic wrappers, styrofoams, and other residuals be put in a sack or in a garbage bags to be dumped in front of MRU near gate 3 to be collected by the Barangay waste collector. d. Special/hazardous waste such as broken glasses/bottles, fluorescent bulbs, laboratory wastes including toxic chemicals, etc. be handled carefully and dumped in the septic vault located at the back corner of MRU. Please coordinate with CFEMU/PPPDMO staff. e. No burning and dumping of waste in places not designated for dumping. 10. Monitoring and Evaluation of the areas assigned per schools shall be done monthly by the SCC officers.
