Round Three Les Deux Alpes, France 6-7 July 2013

Brought to you by

Hello all racers....

Firstly, for those of you who raced in Val dAllos last weekend I hope you are recovering well and ready for the next event. It was an incredible race over the weekend and everyone here at the Enduro World Series has been blown away by the level of the racing after only two rounds. Congratulations again to our winners Nico, Tracy and Martin. Following the positive feedback about our Race Book last week, we have again compiled al the necessary information regarding our next event, Round 3 of the World Series at Crankworx in Les Deux Alpes. This weekend sees a slightly different format again, with a mixture of chairlifts and climbs for the Liaison Stages and only one day of racing, with the race itself consisting of four consecutive Special Stages of varying lengths. Following feedback from racers and teams so far this year, and after looking at the mix up of riders on the podium in Val dAllos, we have chosen to shorten the amount of ofcial training available here in Les Deux Alpes. As the timetable details in the following pages, we will announce the stages on Thursday and you may walk any stage you wish on Friday. Ofcial training will be available all day on Saturday, giving you the chance to ride the loop and see the stages. Be aware that any rider found riding by a race ofcial on an ofcial stage on Thursday or Friday will be disqualied from Sundays race. Once again we all look forward to seeing you in the high mountains of Les 2 Alpes. Yours in sport,

Chris Ball

Following the release of the course maps, you must remain off the stages in order to allow the course setters to prepare the course. You will be free on Friday to walk the stages, but riding is strictly forbidden. Any rider found riding on course by a race ofcial on Thursday or Friday will be disqualied from the race. Courses will be marked by tape and ags/gates. If a rider leaves the track accidentally or not, they have to start back at the exact location where they left the course. A rider missing a gate will receive a suitable penalty. Commissaires and marshals will be situated along the course to check for any rule violations. Riders have to cross the nish line with their bike. Bike Riders are solely responsible for the conformity of their equipment, its suitability and maintenance. Bikes equipped with 26, 27.5 or 29 wheels and whose handlebar extremities have been blocked are allowed to take part in the Enduro Series. At each event, participants are allowed only one bike during the two days of the race. The frame, forks and wheels will be marked prior to the start (when collecting race plates). If one of these parts break (frame, forks, rear swingarm and wheels), riders have to report it to the race direction. In the case of a replacement of a part or the entire bike, a 5-minutes penalty will be given (the penalty is assigned to the day when the accident occurs) if the rider reports it to the race direction. If not reported, the riders will be disqualied (from the race day). Equipment It is compulsory to wear a full-face helmet, long nger gloves, knee and elbow pads and a back protector all CE certied. A backpack can replace the back protector if it includes a CE certied back protection system. Any rider taking the start without this compulsory equipment will not be allowed to race.
