Proposed Products List: Submit list of major products proposed for use, with name of manufacturer, trade name, and model number of each product. 1. Submit within 5 days after date of Notice to Proceed. 2. For products specified only by reference standards, list applicable reference standards. Product Data Submittals: Submit manufacturer's standard published data. Mark each copy to identify applicable products, models, options, and other data. Supplement manufacturers' standard data to provide information specific to this Project. Shop Drawing Submittals: Prepared specifically for this Project; indicate utility and electrical characteristics, utility connection requirements, and location of utility outlets for service for functional equipment and appliances. Sample Submittals: Illustrate functional and aesthetic characteristics of the product, with integral parts and attachment devices. Coordinate sample submittals for interfacing work. 1. For selection from standard finishes, submit samples of the full range of the manufacturer's standard colors, textures, and patterns.

PART 2 PRODUCTS 2.01 EXISTING PRODUCTS A. B. C. Do not use materials and equipment removed from existing premises unless specifically required or permitted by the Contract Documents. Unforeseen historic items encountered remain the property of the Owner; notify Owner promptly upon discovery; protect, remove, handle, and store as directed by Owner. Existing materials and equipment indicated to be removed, shall not to be; re-used, relocated within the project, reinstalled; but shall be delivered to the Owner, or otherwise leave as it is to remain the property of the Owner until otherwise advised by the Employer. Reused Products: Reused products include materials and equipment previously used in this or other construction, salvaged and refurbished as specified. Specific Products to be Reused: The reuse of certain materials and equipment already existing on the project site is not prohibited. 1. See Section 011000 for list of items required to be salvaged for reuse and relocation.

2.02 NEW PRODUCTS Provide new and best quality products unless specifically required or permitted by the Contract Documents. Manufacturers shall have long experience in the design and manufacture of the products supplied by them and products shall have a proven and reliable service in similar installations and under similar conditions. The equipment and instruments used shall have local agents certified by the manufactureres to check, test, calibrate, commisssion and maintain them. Irrespective of any conditions specified herein, the Contractor shall be solely responsible for supplying and installing the Products as specified and implied in the Contract Documents. Products not detailed in the Specifications shall be to the highest quality and shall be up to date approved standards where applicable. Provide Interchangeable componets of the same manufacture for componets being replaced. The Contractor shall obtain product conformity based on continued testing together with details of the manufacturer's quality assurance system certificate. Manufactured articles, materials and equipment shall be applied, installed, connected, erected, used, cleaned and conditioned as directed by the respective manufactures unless more stringent requirements are specified. The Contractor shall not deliver material to the work without Engineer's prior approval. Where the Contract Documents require that a cetain product is to comply to a particular standard, the Contractor shall present an affidavit from the manufacturer certifying that the product complies therewith. Where requested or specified, the Contractor shall submit supporting test data to substantiate compliance. All products shall be tested as required by the Specifications. Additional testing shall be carried out if required by the Architect at any time and at no extra cost.

M. Do not use products having any of the following characteristics: 1. Made using or containing CFC's or HCFC's. N. Where all other criteria are met, Contractor shall give preference to products that: 1. Have longer documented life span under normal use. 2. Result in less construction waste. Regionally-Sourced Products: 1. Specific Product Categories: Provide regionally-sourced products as specified elsewhere. Products with Rapidly Renewable Material Content: 1. Definition: Materials made from plants that are typically harvested within 10 years or less after planting. 2. Specific Product Categories: Provide renewable material content as specified elsewhere. 3. Calculations: Where information about renewable material content is required to be submitted and an item is not made completely of rapidly renewable material, calculate content by dividing the renewable material content by weight by the total weight of the item. Products Specified by Reference Standards or by Description Only: Use any product meeting those standards or description. Products Specified by Naming One or More Manufacturers: Use a product of one of the manufacturers named and meeting specifications, no options or substitutions allowed. Products Specified by Naming One or More Manufacturers with a Provision for Substitutions: Submit a request for substitution for any manufacturer not named.

2.04 MAINTENANCE MATERIALS A. B. Furnish extra materials, spare parts, tools, and software of types and in quantities specified in individual specification sections. Deliver to Project site; obtain receipt prior to final payment.

PART 3 EXECUTION 3.01 SUBSTITUTION PROCEDURES A. B. C. D. E. Instructions to Bidders specify time restrictions for submitting requests for substitutions during the bidding period. Comply with requirements specified in this section. Architect will consider requests for substitutions only within 30 days after date established in Notice to Proceed. Substitutions may be considered when a product becomes unavailable through no fault of the Contractor. Document each request with complete data substantiating compliance of proposed substitution with Contract Documents. A request for substitution constitutes a representation that the submitter: 1. Has investigated proposed product and determined that it meets or exceeds the quality level of the specified product. 2. Will provide the same warranty for the substitution as for the specified product. 3. Will coordinate installation and make changes to other Work that may be required for the Work to be complete with no additional cost to Owner. 4. Waives claims for additional costs or time extension that may subsequently become apparent. 5. Will reimburse Owner and Architect for review or redesign services associated with re-approval by authorities. Substitutions will not be considered when they are indicated or implied on shop drawing or product data submittals, without separate written request, or when acceptance will require revision to the Contract Documents. Substitution Submittal Procedure: 1. Submit three copies of request for substitution for consideration. Limit each request to one proposed substitution. 2. Submit shop drawings, product data, and certified test results attesting to the proposed product equivalence. Burden of proof is on proposer. 3. The Architect will notify Contractor in writing of decision to accept or reject request. Owner's Responsibilities: 1. Arrange for and deliver Owner reviewed shop drawings, product data, and samples, to Contractor. 2. Arrange and pay for product delivery to site. 3. On delivery, inspect products jointly with Contractor. 4. Submit claims for transportation damage and replace damaged, defective, or deficient items. 5. Arrange for manufacturers' warranties, inspections, and service. Contractor's Responsibilities: 1. Review Owner reviewed shop drawings, product data, and samples. 2. Receive and unload products at site; inspect for completeness or damage jointly with Owner. 3. Handle, store, install and finish products. 4. Repair or replace items damaged after receipt.

3.03 PACKING, TRANSPORTATION AND HANDLING A. The Contract Price shall allow for all costs encountered for the supply, CIF to the Site, storage, double handling, cranage, wharfage, porterage, customs, clearance charges, handling fees, other fees and dues levied on the export / import of the Products. Packing of material and equipment shall include one packing list inside, and one packing list outside the packing, fixed in a weatherproof envelope. All packed material shall be brought to the Site in its original packing and labelled showing the trade name of material, date of manufacture, date of expiry, place of manufacture, name of manufacturer, conditons under which material shall be stored, weight, volume, method of application and mixing if applicable, precautions to be taken when used ... etc. Any plastic material used for packing must be UV resistant in order to avoid deterioration during storage on site. Coordinate schedule of product delivery to designated prepared areas in order to minimize site storage time and potential damage to stored materials. Transport and handle products in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. Transport materials in covered trucks to prevent contamination of product and littering of surrounding areas. Promptly inspect shipments to ensure that products comply with requirements, quantities are correct, and products are undamaged. Provide equipment and personnel to handle products by methods to prevent soiling, disfigurement, or damage. Arrange for the return of packing materials, such as wood pallets, where economically feasible. Owner shall not take any responsibility whatsoever, for any item or equipment, damaged and has become not usable in the Project until the handover of the works. Designate receiving/storage areas for incoming products so that they are delivered according to installation schedule and placed convenient to work area in order to minimize waste due to excessive materials handling and misapplication. Store and protect products in accordance with manufacturers' instructions. Store with seals and labels intact and legible. Store sensitive products in weather tight, climate controlled, enclosures in an environment favorable to product. For exterior storage of fabricated products, place on sloped supports above ground. Provide bonded off-site storage and protection when site does not permit on-site storage or protection. Cover products subject to deterioration with impervious sheet covering. Provide ventilation to prevent condensation and degradation of products. Store loose granular materials on solid flat surfaces in a well-drained area. Prevent mixing with foreign matter. Prevent contact with material that may cause corrosion, discoloration, or staining. Provide equipment and personnel to store products by methods to prevent soiling, disfigurement, or damage. Arrange storage of products to permit access for inspection. Periodically inspect to verify products are undamaged and are maintained in acceptable condition.

3.05 APPROVALS A. Before entering into any sub-contract for the supply of any materials, the Contractor shall obtain the Architect's approval in writing of the sources from which he proposes to obtain such materials. The Contractor shall not order any material nor execute any works without having the Architect's prior approval. He shall not thereafter modify the source of supply or working methods without the Architect's consent. Any approval given by the Architect shall not relieve the Contractor from his responsibilities under the Contract. END OF SECTION
