Ensure that you get your Air conditioner installed through an Authorised Service Agent Installation is the most important factor for the smooth working of the airconditioner. Air conditioner can be installed in 3 different ways. 1. Masonry Wall 2. Wooden Window 3. Aluminium Grill Window The type of installation has a direct effect on the operating noise level. The Air conditioner should never be installed in a Marble window. Generally installation in masonry wall has been proved to be a noiseless operation of an airconditioner.

18

INSTALLATION
LOCATION :
a) Should be ideally installed at window sill level i.e. 3 to 5 feet from the floor level. b) In a rectangular room installation should be preferably on the longer side walls.

WIRING DIAGRAM

Wall

Longer Wall

3-5 Feet

c) Room air condiioners are designed to cool the room air upto only eight feet from the floor, and cool air discharge should be confirmed to the lower portion of the room. Higher installations can also cause service problems. d) In a rectangular room the installation could be on the longer side walls. Wherever this choice is not available the unit can be installed in the left hand corner. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES THE UNIT SHALL BE INSTALLED IN THE RIGHT HAND CORNER as this will cause short cycling of cold air.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES THIS INSTALLATION WILL BE DONE

WIRING DIAGRAM DUAL CAPACITOR W/O SWING

e) Two Acs should not be installed one above the other. This will cause short cycling of the cold air. f) There should be no obstruction to the outside air flow that could cause restriction or re-circulation of outside air back to the unit. The unit must be located near a plentiful source of outdoor air to permit proper air cooled condenser heat rejection.

g)

The AC should be installed on a wall/window which should be on the shady side of the room, I.e. On the North wall or the East wall. Avoid the West wall or the South wall. Direct sun light tends to increase the condensing temperature, head pressure and operating cost and reduce the units capacity and efficiency.

NORTH OR EAST WALL

H) If it is not possible to install the AC the shady side & the unit must be exposed to the sun, then some shading should be used for unit for greater efficiency. Awnings are most effective since they shade both the unit & the window at the same time. The awning must not restrict free flow of air to and from the unit.

The tubings or ducting part should not be touched with the cabinet. Lock the chassis into cabinet by chassis locking bracket. Place FRONT GRILL into CABINET by screws. To place the grill top of cabinet, push button of grill until it snaps into place.

TROUBLE SHOOTING
TROUBLE
Air conditioner is not at all operating

POSSIBLE CAUSE
1. Not plugged in

REMEDY
Insert plug securely into run wall outlet. Ask an electrician or your dealer. If unable to reset, consult your dealer. Replace with the rated fuse Remove obstruction

2. Power failure or line voltage is too low 3. Circuit Breaker Tripped 4. Fuse is blown Compressor runs but soon stops Poor Cooling Obstruction in front of condenser coil 1. Dirty or clogged air filter. 2. Extra heat load by many people in room or heat source 3. Doors and windows are open. inadequate ventilation Air conditioner is not installed in level Excess water may overflow in extremely hot and humid weather. 1. When compressor or fan switches on and off, a metallic knock may be heard.

CONDENSATE DRAIN (Optional)

To get the maximum cooling efficiency, this air conditioner is designed to splash the condensate to the condenser coil. If the splashing sound annoys you, you can provide an outside drain using the following procedure. This may, however, cause drop in performance a little. How to prepare to the external drain. 1) 2) Side out the chassis from the cabinet. Raise the back of the chassis slightly. The back drain plug will be visible at the rear right of the chassis. Remove this plug with pliers or a screwdriver, and discard (fig.1) Fix drain pan with screw to cabinet (fig.2) Slide the chassis into its original place in the cabinet.

TIPS REGARDING ELECTRICAL WORK :

1.

MCB / Power Cord rating / Stabiliser. We recommend the source Power Supply through MCB & 3 Step Stabiliser with low voltage cut off. Please refer table

PowerCord Gauge in mm 1 2.5 2.5

Stabiliser KVA 3 4 5

Water leaks inside

Water leaks outside

2.

The operating voltage for the air conditioner is 207-253 volts. In areas where there are wide voltage fluctuations it is recommended to use a suitable stabiliser of reputed make. The plug point should be of 15 amps capacity and property earthed. The plug must fit in tightly within the socket to avoid sparks. All wire ends must be fully tightened. The above are the basic requirments of Videocon air conditioners only. If other appliance (s) e,g, water heater, iron, etc., Are to be connected in the same line, modifications must be made as per the specifications of that application. As far as possible an separate branch should be used exclusively for the air conditioner.

Remember, the air conditioner will not cool as effectively if the ventilation lever is on OPEN, while the air conditioner is in operation. Keys on The Receiver Unit: Annual check : After long-term usages of room air conditioner, dust and dirt will accumulate inside, lowering the performance. This may cause the generation of odour or may impede the drainage of the dehumidifying water. Besides regular cleaning of the air conditioner, a separate annual check is also recommended (chargeable). Please request your dealer to carry out these checks. There are eight keys on the Receiver Unit. A beep sound is heard when any key is pressed. Power : Switch the system on or off. UP : To adjusted the set temp & Timer value.
