1. Meaning of Moksha according to Hinduism

Moksha: Liberation. In Hinduism the salvation of the soul is defined as


freedom from the cycle of reincarnation on the physical plane - Earth. After
Moksha the soul abides eternally in heaven. Before Moksha the soul will
enter heaven or hell temporarily between births, depending on the merits
or demerits it accrues in the form of karmas during it’s life on earth.
Moksha is in a sense a graduation from having to live life on Earth
anymore. It is achieved after the soul has fulfilled all of it’s desires for life
on earth and has realized God. It is synonymous with Mukti.

2. Why we developed Moksha Game?

Teaching religion to a student is not an easy task but when we teach them
through entertainment, sure they will have interest on it. This is the reason
behind this game. Moksha Game teaches Hinduism through entertainment.
As a teaching tool, this game is very helpful for a student to understand
Hinduism better.

3. Who is our target?

As we’ve mentioned above, our main target is the students. Moksha Game
has been developed for primary and secondary school students. Below
image shows the options in the game. Game and quiz levels in primary
options will easier than the secondary option. Have a look at the options
at the next page.

5. Player’s goal in Moksha Game

As a Hindu, his/her ultimate goal is to reunite with GOD. In this game, the
player need to visit few temples, Gurus, avoid the monsters (maya),
memorize Hinduism’s teachings and answer all the quizzes to reunite with
GOD at the last level of this game. Before the player attempt the quizzes,
the Hinduism teachings are presented after end of each arcade game level.
Once the player has completed all the levels, he/she will be transformed
into a soul (Athma) to reunite with the supreme soul (Paramathma).

covered in Primary option and the balance of six topics is provided in

10. Moksha Game Installation Guide

Before you install, make sure your computer meet the below requirements.

> Windows XP or later


> DirectX 8 or later
> DirectX 8 compatible graphics card with at least 32MB of video memory
> Pentium or equivalent processor
> DirectX 8 compatible sound card
> 512 MB of RAM or greater
> 800x600 (or greater) screen resolution with 16-bit or 32-bit colors

Note: Windows 98 does not support Moksha Game

10.1 Installation procedures:

a. Insert the Moksha CD-ROM, it loads automatically


b. If Auto run is not enabled in your system, click ‘Start’ > select ‘Run’
> ‘Browse’ > choose the CD drive and open the ‘Setup.exe’ file
c. Follow the instructions appear on the screen
d. Once done, you should be able to see ‘Hinduism’ at your ‘Programs’
menu as the picture at next page.

10.2 Frequently asked questions

Q: Unable to start the game after installation


A1: Make sure your pc meets the minimum system requirements to run this game
A2: Make sure you've installed the latest DirectX. Its delivered together with the CD.

Q: Could not listen to the music or sound


A1: Check if you have installed sound card. If you don't have one, please install a sound
card.
A2: Make sure you've installed the latest DirectX. Its delivered together with the CD.

Q: Getting 'Failed to initialize drawing surfaces' message when I try to start Moksha
game
A: Your PC doesn't meet the minimum requirement to run this game.

Q: How to check the version of DirectX in my PC?


A: Go to 'Start'> 'Run' > type 'dxdiag'. Here you can see the version of DirectX in your
PC. If your PC doesn't have DirectX 8.0 or later, please install one.

Q: How to install DirectX 9.0c?


A1: Browse the MOKSHA CD. You will see 'directx_mar2008_redist' folder. Open this
folder. Look for 'DXSETUP.exe' and install this file.
A2: For the latest DirectX, visit http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/ to download the
latest one.

Q: Does Windows 98 support this game?


A: No.

Q: System hangs (or very slow) when Moksha game starts


A: Upgrade your RAM or quit all the other programs and run Moksha game only

Q: Could not quit Moksha game (Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows NT)
A: Press 'Windows+D' -->press 'Ctrl+Alt+Delete'.
On 'Windows Task Manager' --> Click 'Applications' --> Select 'Moksha' --> Click 'End
Task'.
