RECAP: Starter James Paxton tossed a 5-hit complete game shutout as Tacoma defeated Tucson
7-0 on Monday night. Paxton (9.0,5,0,0,2,4) recorded his first career complete game shutout,
allowing only 5 hits and striking out 4. Paxton throw 104 pitches, 64 strikes. DH Stefen Romero
(3x4, 2 R, HR, 5 RBI) led the team with 3 hits, while setting a season-high with 5 RBI, including
hitting a grand slam home run with 1 out in the 7th innings. RF Carlos Peguero (3x5, R, 2B), CF
Abraham Almonte (2x5, 2 R, 2B) and 1B Scott Savastano (2x4, RBI) each recorded multi-hit

earned run over 26 appearances (40.2 IP) at Cheney since his Tacoma debut, June 20, 2012. The
Rainiers collected the teams 50th win on Tuesday in their 86th game of the season. Last season, the 2012 Tacoma squad did not reach
the 50-win mark until August 5 in the teams 116th game played. Tacoma is the first time in the PCL to reach 50 wins, and the 4th in TripleA.
COMPLETE GAME SHUTOUT: LH James Paxton tossed his first career shutout as the Tacoma Rainiers blanked the Tucson Padres 7-0
at Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium on Monday night. Paxton limited the Padres to 5 hits, all singles, and walked 2 with 4 strikeouts over a
career-high 9.0 innings of work.James Paxtons 9.0-inning shutout win on Monday was the first recorded by a Rainiers pitcher since fellow
LH Chris Seddon tossed 9.0 scoreless frames in a win at Colorado Springs on June 15, 2010. Prior to Monday, the longest start of
Paxtons career was 7.0 innings (Aug. 12, 2011 vs. Huntsville).
PCL ALL-STAR TEAM: LHP Brian Moran and OF Carlos Peguero have been selected to represent the PCL in the 2013 Dolan Auto
Group Triple-A All-Star Game. This years event, which pits PCL All-Stars against All-Stars from the International League, is scheduled to
be played on Wednesday, July 17th at Aces Ballpark in Reno, Nevada. Moran, 24, earned his first All-Star selection in his second season
with the Rainiers. The left-hander leads Tacomas ranks second among PCL relievers after producing a rate of 12.73 strikeouts per nine
innings pitched this season. Peguero, 26, is also set to make his first Triple-A All-Star appearance in his 8th season since signing with the
Mariners as a non-drafted free agent in 2005. This season marks the 2nd in as many years that the Rainiers have had 2 players featured in
the Triple-A All-Star Game.

RECAP: LF Jack Marder hit a 2-run home run in the top of the 2nd inning as Jackson held of for a
3-2 win over Pensacola on Monday night. 1B Steven Proscia (1x4, RBI) knocked in the Generals
3rd run of the game with a RBI single in the in the 3rd inning. Marder (1x2, R, HR, 2 RBI), Proscia,
2B Chris Taylor (1x3, R) and 3B Ramon Morla (1x3, R) each recorded one of the teams 4 hits.
Starter Chance Ruffin (6.0,6,2,2,2,3) allowed 2 runs on 6 hits in 3.0 innings, but didnt figure into the
decision. Relievers RH Stephen Kohlscheen (3.1,0,0,0,1,2), LH Nick Hill (1.0,2,0,0,0,0) and RH
Stephen Shackleford (1.2,0,0,0,3,2) combined to strike out 4 batters in 6.0 scoreless innings.
Kohlscheen recorded his 3rd win with Jackson, while Shackleford earned his first save since being
promoted to AA.
OF NOTE: SS Chris Taylor has hit safely in 9 of his last 10 games with 6 multi-hit outings, batting
batting .410 (16x39) with 7 runs scored, 3 doubles, 1 triple, 4 RBI, 3 stolen bases and 5 walks.
Overall he has hit safely in 14 of 17 games after being promoted to Jackson from High Desert,
batting .323 (21x65) with 11 runs scored, 5 doubles, 1 triple, 5 RBI, 10 walks and 5 stolen bases.
Taylor recorded his 100th hit of the season on June 30 vs. Birmingham. He was the first Mariners
farmhand to record at least 100 hits. After allowing 5 runs over his first 6 appearances of the season,
RH Carson Smith has allowed only 4 earned runs over his last 22 relief appearances. During this
stretch he is 0-1 with 6 saves and a 1.57 ERA (4 ER, 23.0 IP). Since April 22, Smith has lowered his
ERA from 8.44 to 2.76. Smith has struck out at least 1 batter in 25 of 28 games, including recording
12 strikeouts over his last 6 appearances. LH Kyle Hunter has held oppoents scoreless in 18 of 22

SOUTHERN LEAGUE ALL-STAR TEAM: OF Julio Morban and OF James Jones will represent Jackson on the North Division roster for
the 2013 Southern League All-Star Game, which is scheduled for July 17 at Bragan Field at Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. RHP
Taijuan Walker was also selected to the roster, but is unable to play due to his recent promotion to AAA Tacoma. Players were selected by
a vote of Southern League field managers, radio broadcasters, general managers and print media. All players on Southern League rosters
as of June 12 were eligible in the voting.

RECAP: LF Jabari Blashi hit a 3-run home run and C Steven Baron knocked in 2 runs as High Desert defeated Lancaster 7-3 on Monday
night. DH Patrick Brady (3x4, RBI) led the team with 3 hits, while Blash (2x4, R, HR, 3 RBI), 1B Daniel Paolini (2x4, 2 R, 2B) and 2B Nate
Melendres (2x3, R, 2B, RBI) each recorded 2 hit games. Baron (1x4, R, 3B, 2 RBI) hit a 2-run triple in the 5th inning that gave the
Mavericks a 6-3 lead. Starter Jordan Pries (4.2,6,3,2,1,4) allowed 3 runs (2 ER) on 6 hits in 4.2 innings, but did not figure into he decision.
RH David Colvin (3.1,1,0,0,1,2) improved to 5-0, allowing only 1 hit in 3.1 scoreless innings in relief. RH Dominic Leone (1.0,1,0,0,0,1)
recorded the final 3 outs in the game to secure the victory.
OFNOTE: After allowing 9 runs in his first 11.2 innings with the Maverick, Dominic Leone has only 2 earned runs over his last 25.2 innings
in relief (0.70 ERA). During this stretch he has limited opponents to a .188 (16x85) average, while walking 5 and striking out 32. Since May
9, he has lowered his ERA from 6.23 to 2.56. RH David Colvin has allowed only 4 earned runs over his last 21.0 innings in relief (1.71

Rapids 5-3 on Monday night. Starter Tyler Pike (5.0,3,1,0,4,5) allowed 1 run (0 ER) on 3 hits in 5.0 innings but recorded a no decision after
leaving with a 3-1 lead. RH Mark Bordonaro (1.0,0,3,1,4,1) allowed 3 runs (1 ER) while walking 4 batters and striking out 1 in the 6th and

triple, 3 home runs and 9 RBI in 29 games with the Mariners this season. The Mariners were 15-10 in games when Montero started behind
the plate. Montero hit .206 in April (17 games), and was hitting .211 in May (12 games). His 3 home runs all came in Felix Hernandez

Seattle Mariners minor league pitcher Taijuan Walker and shortstop Brad Miller have been selected to play for the U.S. squad in the 15th
annual SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game to be played July 14 at Citi Field in New York City (11 a.m. PT/ESPN2, ESPN2 HD and MLB.com,
MLB Network Radio) as part of All-Star weekend.This is Walkers second consecutive selection on the All-Star Futures roster.
INF Ji-Man Choi has been added to the World team as a replacement for Rangers catcher Jorge Alfaro, who broke his hand when he was
hit by a pitch on Friday. SS Brad Miller was replaced on the U.S. team by D-backs shortstop Chris Owings, since Miller won't be eligible to
play now that he's on the Major League roster.
Tacoma Rainiers hitting coach Howard Johnson will be part of the U.S. coaching staff.
The Mariners have had 30 selections to the Futures Game since its first beginning in 1999. Three players on the current 25-man roster
played in the Futures Game in the past: Felix Hernandez (2004), Kendrys Morales (2005) and Michael Saunders (2007). Hernandez
