Easing the tension: What the Bible does and doesn't say about human origins

Date/time: Saturday, July 27, 3:30-5:00 p.m. (childcare provided by reservation!) Led by Nick Stavlund Questions to cover: Is there a conict between Genesis 2 and scientic accounts of human origins? How should we read Genesis 2? What should our attitudes be towards science in general?

Summary: This class is part of Nick's doctoral program in Science and Theology through Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. At the beginning of the class, every participant will take a short, anonymous survey of their attitudes, beliefs, and understanding of Genesis 2 and its relationship to science. At the end, every participant will take another short, anonymous survey to see if attitudes have changed. In between the two surveys, we'll have some fun and learn a bunch of stuff about our ancestors and Scripture. Team Haiti, 2013 Informational meeting this Wednesday, July 17, at 6:30 p.m. in the North Room. Bring along anyone who may be interested in joining us for the October trip (Oct. 11-19).
