DEPARTMENT OF HISTORY AND POLITICAL SCIENCE

Department of history established in 1997 offers Indian History and Political Science as Complementary Course for P B.A. Economics Degree Programme since 2010 with the introduction of CBCSS. Formerly we had been teaching Indian History and Political Science as subsidiary subjects for B.A. Economics Course. FACULTY The faculty consists of four members- 3 History and 1 Political Science. 1. Dr. C. Stanley John ( Associate Professor and Head) 2. Dr Sathiyaraj A. ( Associate Professor) 3. Dr Joseph Antony ( Associate Professor) 4. Dr C. Francis ( Assistanr Professor) LEARNING RESOURCES Books There are History books and Political Science book sin the College Library. MODERN TEACHING TOOLS AND METHODS 1. Lecture Method, Project Method, Discussion Method, Assignments and Quizzing. 2. Lap Tops and L.C.D. Projector ACADEMIC AND PERSONAL COUNSELLING Active in counseling, tutorial and remedial classes. FACULTY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAMME Faculty members have undergone the required Orientation and Refresher Courses. Dr Sathiyaraj A. underwent three additional training Courses. U.G.C. Francis attended 3 National Seminars, 1International Seminar and 4 Regional Seminars PAPER PRESENTATIONS Dr Sathiyaraj A. Presented four papers in National Seminars and one paper in an International Seminar. Dr Joseph Antony presented 6 papers in Regional Seminars, 13 papers in National Seminars and 2 papers in International Seminars. PUBLICATIONS Dr. C. Stanley John Published two articles in Journal of Kerala Studies and one in Mindscape The Handbook on Value Education, F.M.N. College. Dr Sathiyaraj A published one article in Journal of Kerala Studies, one in the Research Journal of Fatima Mata National College and one in Mindscape, The Handbook on Value Education, F.M.N.

College. He also co-authored a book entitled Continuities in Civil Rebelliion, India Institute of Historical Studies, Kolkota. Dr Joseph Antony published two articles in Review of Social Sciences, one in the Research Journal of Fatima Mata National College and one in ISDA Journal. He has contributed three articles in Research Publication Books and published one book review. He also co- translated a book entitled Shaghai Text and contributes an article in Mindscape. Dr C. Francis published two articles in the Journals of the Department of History, University Of Kerala and one in Mindscape. He also co-ordinate the publication of Mindscape.
