THE ART OF PROFESSIONAL ANIMAL GROOMING

Our newest Business Member, ON ALL 4’S is an elite professional dog, cat and small animal grooming service featuring the “ART” of Certified Master Groomer and owner/ operator Melissa Coniglio. Upon meeting Melissa, three things become clear: her genuine love of animals, her passion for her art, and her knowledge of how to keep a pet happy and healthy. “I’ve have been blessed with the opportunity to me mentored by Joseph Genarella, Breeder, Handler, Grooming Instructor and Author” said Melissa, (www.cordedpoodles.com). Melissa brings her 25 years of competing in Confirmation Show, Creative and Pet Grooming along with her training as a Veterinarian Assistant and experience with Service Dogs, Midwest Bomb Dogs, Search & Rescue Dogs, Security & Military Trainers. In 2010 Melissa was chosen to work under Animal Planets reality show “Groomer Has It” Vanessa from season 2, Owner of Dog Tag in Chicago land. “Understand, in the United States you do NOT have to be certified or licensed to be a animal groomer, explained Melissa. “This is why I am constantly expanding my knowledge in the animal world by attending seminars, classes and grooming competitions, as it is key to pro- viding elite care for your pets. Having a background as a Veterinarian assistant assures my clients safety and proper maintenance, as well as the ability to identify any health issues that may occur in the pets life.” ON ALL 4’S is committed that all pets have the safest and most professional groom- ing experience, building that bond between owner, pet and groomer.

ON All 4’S services are by appointment only, as to ensure you and your “elite friend” receive quality, attentive and prompt service. They also offer evening and weekend hours for your con- venience. All grooms and bath include: bath with mas- sage, specialty shampoos, nail cut & grinding, ear cleaning & plucking, hand drying, cologne and bows (if desired). A full service groom pro- vides your pet with an AKC standard breed cut, hand stripping, confirmation show grooming, pet groom or creative design. North or South? It sounds like a simple question. Right now inside your head, all kinds of answers to that simple question are formulating. Most, more than likely, have to do with the Civil War. However, if you are from Chicago that particular question holds an entirely different meaning altogether. Yet, it is one that can dissolve into arguments, some might say, that could rival a Civil War battle! What it comes down to for us Chicagoans is this: Are you a Cubs fan or a White Sox fan? North side or South side? You have to pick one or the other; it is a Chicago requirement of residency. You simply cannot love both teams; sorry the cross-town rivalry is just too epic in proportion for such things as a split in loyalty Cubs fans and White Sox fans are equally serious in their devotion to their team. Though, some

might say the Cubs fans have a slight edge with their seemingly manic devotion, since the team tends to lose, a lot. Anyone who has an interest in seeing the Cubs in action or inaction, whichever Not to say that the Sox fans haven’t seen their share of losing seasons, it simply seems that, somehow, the Cubs are expected to lose. A perfect example, we were driving and spotted a SUV with a large Cubs logo plastered across the back window with the words ‘Maybe next year’ in large lettering above it. Despite their tendency to lose nearly every season, the Cubs fans remain forever loyal. Not to imply that Sox fans aren’t as loyal. They are, despite their own failures here and there. Of course, the Sox fans don’t have a goat curse to blame for their team’s loses. But that is a story for another time. Chicagoans are staunchly loyal to their teams. Friendships (even marriages and family relations) are fretted over—not because that particular person did anything horrific that would cause you to end your relationship with them— but because they are perhaps a Cubs fan while you are a Sox fan, or vice versa. Many times upon meeting a fellow Chicagoan, we’ll ask not what suburb they are from, but whether they are a Cubs fan or Sox fan. And depending on the answer, cheer or groan accordingly. We displaced Chicagoans, who have moved away from the Windy City to the deserts of Las Vegas, have Chicagoans In The Desert, LLC to call upon for sports events, and they are forever neutral, never discriminating against anyone based on North side or South side loyalty. So I can only ask you one question, North or South and await your answer in tense anticipation.
