Lifting The Veil: Rick Simpson -- Hemp Bud Essential Oil Cancer Cure World Hemp Congress Aug 25th-30th, 2012 GW Pharmaceuticals -- "The possibility that cannabinoids, including endocannabinoids, may treat cancer is supported by an ever increasing body of available evidence." There are scores of peer reviewed articles reporting the multiple strong anti-cancer effects of over 80 naturally-occurring cannabis compounds in the hemp bud essential oil, including THC and cannabidiol. Rick Simpson claims to have treated several thousand cancer patients with better results than standard medical protocols for cancer treatment. Some of the top medicinal cannabis researchers in the world (e.g. Robert Melamede, Lumir Hanus, and Raphael Mechoulam) have reviewed Rick Simpson's hemp bud essential oil protocol for curing cancer, and have publicly stated that the science strongly supports the testimonials of many patients diagnosed with terminal cancer who became, and remained, cancer free after 60 or 90 days on Rick Simpson's essential hemp bud oil protocol. Rick Simpson's empirical medicinal essential hemp oil cancer treatment protocol has been followed by several thousand diagnosed cancer patients who treated themselves with Rick Simpson's hemp oil (provided free of charge) with a higher remission rate, anecdotally, than standard cytotoxic chemo and radiation therapy protocols -- without any harmful side effects! The only side effects are temporary sleepiness, a good appetite and a smile. Tolerance to acute psychoactive effects of the THC in the hemp oil develops in a matter of days, due to endogenous inactivation of some cannabinoid receptors in the brain neurons. Extensive pre-clinical studies published in peer-reviewed scientific journals provides strong scientific support for the effectiveness of Rick Simpson's hemp oil treatment protocol for the treatment of a broad range of cancer types, including skin cancer, breast cancer, lymphomas, and gliomas (brain cancer). Botanical mixtures of Cannabinoids at sustained high doses kill cancer cells by at least four different mechanisms of action, while actively protecting healthy cells adjacent to cancer cells that are induced to kill themselves rapidly. Rick Simpson's cancer treatment protocol requires the ingestion sublingually of 1 gram per day (taken in 3 or 4 fractional doses througout the day) of the highest potency Cannabis Indica essential oil extracted from the female flower clusters and concentrated and purified of all traces of solvent. The daily dose of 1 gm of essential hemp oil should be continued for at least 60 days, and up to 90 days, to cause remission of several types of cancer. The dosage of the complex botanical mixture of cannabinoids required to cause remission of many types of cancer is 15 to 20 times the highest daily dosage of synthetic or plant-derived THC that is currently administered as an medically accepted palliative treatment for symptomatic relief of nausea, pain, and muscle spasms. patients undergoing medically accepted cancer treatments including surgical, chemo and radiation therapy protocols, may be given a legally-recognized recommendation (not a prescription) in several states and in Canada, for "medical marijuana" to be smoked inhaled from a vaporizer, or eaten in brownies, swallowed in capsules, or prepared as a tincture to be sprayed sublingually to control the severe nausea caused by the chemo and radiation therapy. Palliative doses of medical marijuana sufficient to control symptoms of nausea, lack of appetite, intractable cancer pain, and spasticity of multiple sclerosis, are generally not sufficient to cause remission of cancers. Although the use of medical cannabis is legally protected to some degree by the state government in about 15 states of the USA, and in Canada, the US Federal Government continues to treat cannabis ("marijuana") as a Schedule 1 Controlled Substance which is illegal for any and all use. President Obama said he would not allow the use of Federal law enforcement resources to interfere with State "medical marijuana" laws, but he refuses to reschedule botanical cannabis so that it can be legally prescribed by medical practioners and studied in clinical trials, and the DEA and FBI continue to arbitrarily raid medical marijuana providers, care-givers, and patients in California and several other states, who are deemed by the State governments to be in compliance with the applicable "medical marijuana" laws. Despite the initial principled opposition of the AMA, and all knowledgeable scientific and sociological authorities, the growing of hemp was effectively prohibited by passage of an exorbitant stamp-tax in 1937. Later Congress passed laws classifying cannabis as a narcotic drug, and prohibiting the possession and ingestion of any part of the medicinal indian hemp plant. In 1971, relying on false and fraudulent testimony,

Congress placed cannabis on Schedule 1 of the Controlled Substances Act, namely substances that have (A) a high potential for abuse; (B) no currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States; (C) no accepted safety for use under medical supervision. Due to its racist origins and connotations, we should reject the use the pejorative "marijuana". The proper and good historical name of a beneficial plant, known to human kind for millenia, is "hemp" in common language, or "cannabis" in botanical and scientific language. We should banish the use of the racist pejorative "marijuana", which the US government has used, and continues to use to tell nothing but lies about hemp, aka cannabis. The International Association for Cannabinoid Medicine (IACM) was founded in March, 2000, in Germany. The IACM publishes a peer-reviewed online journal, "Cannabinoids", which contains mini-reviews of important recent medical or scientific findings, ideas or issues concerning medicinal cannabis products, and cannabinoid therapeutics. The IACM owns the rights to a standardized dosage formula of medicinal essential hemp oil called Cannador which is administered orally in a swallowed gell capsule. Major bio-technology companies are promoting research into medicinal cannabis, developing standardardized pharmaceutical preparations of the essential oil of the female flower clusters of cannabis indica and cannabis sativa plants, conducting clinical trials, and acquiring patents on various cannabis-based medicines. GW Pharmaceuticals, founded in 1998 in the UK, has developed a medicinal essential hemp oil-based standardized formula called Sativex and sub-lingual spray delivery system for patients who are legally prescribed cannabinoid medicine. Phase III clinical trials of Sativex for the treatment of cancer pain are currently under way in the USA, and several European countries. Cannabis Science, located in Colorado, USA, is a biotechnology company that has developed a standardized topical, inedible formulation of essential hemp oil indicated for the topical treatment of basal cell carcinoma. They plan to begin clinical trials soon in the US. Although all of the pre-clinical scientific studies of cannabis and cancer published since 1975 have clearly demonstrated the powerful antineoplastic activity, and total harmlessness, of the mixture of cannabinoid substances contained in medicinal essential hemp oil for the treatment of 7 or 8 different types of aggressive cancers, there are currently no controlled clinical trials of the use of cannabinoids for the primary treatment of cancers planned or in progress anywhere in the world! How can this be? Governments around the world are addicted to the criminalization of cannabis for "national security" reasons and are treaty-bound by the United Nations 1961 Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs (written by Harry Anslinger of the US Federal Bureau of Narcotics), and the 1971 Convention on Psychotropic Substances. The multi-billion dollar pharmaceutical industry has reason to fear that the legalization of cannabis would wipe out the market for 90% of their current pharmaceutical products , which are far more costly, far less effective, and infinitely more toxic, than standardized formulations

of medical cannabis. Many medical conditions can be effectively treated with herbal medicinal cannabis grown freely by anyone, in their kitchen garden. Cannabinoid medicine appears to treat all the diseases of aging by regulating our body and brain's endocannabinoid system. High blood pressure, arthritis, diabetes, mental function, and fifty more diseases caused by aging-induced failure of homeostasis. The endocannabinoid system is involved when "the laying on of hands" and prayer by the patient's bedside causes a flood of endocannabinoids such as anandamide to be released inside the body. This is probably how all mind/body treatments actually work to effect cures. Please take the time to read the key research on cannabinoid medicine for yourself. The National Cancer Institute (NCI) now acknowledges the antitumor effects of cannabinoids shown in preclinical studies published since 1998. We should be cautious about prematurely dismissing the value of Rick Simpson's concentrated, heated, decarboxylated and highly-psychoactive hemp oil preparation and protocol, because it has been anecdotally efficacious in curing advanced cancers in hundreds of patients over a period of several years. Dr. William Courtney emphasizes on the "psycho-toxicity" (rather than psycho-activity) of decarboxylated, i.e. non-acid hemp oil that Rick Simpson extracts from dry cannabis plant and buds using volatile chemical solvents and a process of heating to remove all traces of water and solvent. But many patients who have treated themselves using Rick Simpson's protocol find the psycho-active effects of the non-acid form of THC tolerable, short-lived, and even beneficial in reducing anxiety and promoting needed sleep. It's true that the industrial grade organic solvents that Rick Simpson recommends using for the basic home-preparation process of hemp oil are known to be toxic to the liver and intrinsically carcinogenic, and they may also be contaminated by many other known toxic metals and compounds due to their industrial--not pharmaceutical--intended uses. It is truly criminal that public medical research into the safe, inexpensive, standardized pharmaceutical preparation of hemp oil has been inhibited, and careful clinical studies have not been carried out to determine the optimum combinations of acid (carboxylated, green, juicy, non-psychoactive) and non-acid (decarboxylated, dried, heated, psychoactive) forms of the various cannabinoids to treat different cancers and other diseases.

The cancer exploitation industry, and their captive governmental "health" institutions, as well as big pharma, are now forced t acknowlegde the preclinical cancer curing properties of Cannabis in lab experiments, while delaying and restricting clinical studies leading to wide availability and treatment of cancers using cannabis. Their strategy is to continue to criminalize private growing of sufficient quantities of cannabis for self-treatment, and strict regulation of cannibinoid medicines along the lines of opiate medicines. This strategy will support high prices of cannibinoid medicines, and limit the damage to continuing sales of their other toxic, profitable, and eugenicist pharmaceuticals.
