sacrifice
Introduction
Let
me
begin
this
discuss
by
defining
the
term
sacrifice.
A
sacrifice
simply
means
to
give
up
something
of
value.
Under
the
old
covenant
sacrifices
were
mandatory
and
necessary
but
they
were
always
insufficient
to
serve
their
ultimate
purpose;
which
was
to
reconcile
man
to
God
His
creator
and
grant
him
access
into
the
quality
of
life
God
desired
him
to
have.
Jesus
was
the
perfect
sacrifice.
He
met
the
requirements
of
the
justice
of
God,
there
is
no
supplementary
(an
addition
to
something
to
increase
its
size
or
make
up
for
a
deficiency)
sacrifice
required.
Unfortunately
substitution
of
the
mandatory
and
necessary
Old
Covenant
sacrifices
with
more
sophisticated
ones
has
become
the
order
of
the
day.
Believers
are
still
striving
to
meet
the
already
satisfied
righteous
requirements
of
the
justice
of
God
through
their
sacrifices.
Believers
are
still
striving
to
gain
access,
no
longer
through
burnt
offerings
but
now
through
monetary
sacrifices.
If
I
give
a
substantial
offering
then
God
would
be
impressed
and
compelled
to
bless
me...
we
think
in
our
hearts.
If
I
fast
for
extended
periods
then
the
heavens
have
no
choice
than
to
respond
to
my
cries,
we
even
openly
state.
Even
though
Jesus
has
paid
the
ultimate
sacrifice
granting
us
access
to
salvation
and
everything
that
accompanies
it
we
still
want
to
buy
the
gifts
of
God.
We
strive
to
buy
His
approval,
we
labour
hard
to
buy
His
favour
and
we
want
to
pay
for
His
blessings
even
though
we
are
clearly
told
that
they
are
gifts.
We
have
the
mentality
of
if
I
give
this
then
God
will
release
that.
Even
though
Jesus
said,
it
is
finished
we
still
religiously
cry,
the
struggle
continues.
We
have
the
wages
instead
of
the
gift
mentality.
Jesus
paid
the
Bayo
Bello
price
so
that
we
no
longer
have
wages
for
sin
but
free
gifts
in
the
gift
of
righteousness.
We
can
now
come
boldly
before
His
throne
of
grace
to
obtain
mercy
and
find
grace
in
the
hour
of
need...
and
this
access
is
not
premised
on
the
sacrifices
we
make
but
on
the
sacrifice
He
has
made.
That
is
why
He
says
in
His
word
we
can
enter
boldly
into
the
holiest
by
the
blood
of
Jesus...
not
by
our
own
sweat
or
blood.
Stop
trying
to
shed
your
blood
to
earn
His
favour,
Jesus
shed
His
to
entitle
you
to
Gods
everlasting
love
and
kindness.
Stop
putting
faith
in
your
sacrifice
(which
represent
your
efforts)
and
put
your
faith
in
His
sacrifice
and
posture
yourself
to
receive
everything
He
paid
for.
Friends
stop
trying
to
pay
for
your
breakthrough,
Jesus
already
did
that,
when
He
died,
rose
and
ascended,
we
broke
through
in
Him
and
our
lifting
was
forever
guaranteed.
Stop
striving
to
get
Gods
attention;
Hes
mindful
of
you...
Stop
striving
to
gain
His
approval,
you
are
accepted
in
the
beloved...
Rom
8:32
He
who
did
not
spare
His
own
Son,
but
delivered
Him
up
for
us
all,
how
shall
He
not
with
Him
also
freely
give
us
all
things?
1Corinthians
2:12
Now
we
have
received,
not
the
spirit
of
the
world,
but
the
Spirit
who
is
from
God,
that
we
might
know
the
things
that
have
been
freely
given
to
us
by
God.
Isaiah
55:1"Everyone
who
thirsts,
Come
to
the
waters;
and
you
who
have
no
money,
come,
buy
and
eat.
Yes,
come;
buy
wine
and
milk
without
money
and
without
price.
Did
you
notice
the
phrases
freely
give
us
all
things
and
without
money
and
without
price
in
the
scriptures
above?
Friends,
its
without
money
or
price...
it
is
free
of
charge!
There
are
no
hidden
Clauses.
To
be
continued...
