Purpose Use this procedure to create asset main number when Asset is purchased Asset is leased Asset under construction (AUC) needs to be settled Intra company asset transfer needs to take place
Asset class is classified group of asset master. Asset class controls: Account Determination (also controlled by depreciation area) Screen Layout Number range of the asset master.

Depreciation key controls how depreciation is calculated by the system. Depreciation areas are used to calculate different values in parallel for different purposes e.g., legal, tax, insurance, revaluation and concern. One company code can have more than one depreciation area. In U2K2: Depreciation area Depreciation area 01 is for legal depreciation. This depreciation area will post values to the General Ledger (GL) in real time. Depreciation area 02 is for Tax depreciation. This depreciation area won't post values to the General Ledger (GL). Depreciation area 25 is for concern depreciation. This depreciation area will post values to the GL periodically using statistical accounts. Trigger Perform this transaction when need to create main master asset. Menu Path Use the following SAP Easy Access menu path(s) to begin this transaction: Accounting > Financial Accounting > Fixed Assets > Asset > Create > AS01 - Asset.
