Professionals.
About the Programme
The information era with its electronic
facilities has posed many challenges and
risks for Libraries and Information Centres.
These challenges are manifold but the
most important challenge is the change in
the very nature of Libraries and working
of Librarians. To manage the change
successfully, professionals across the
sector not only need to adopt the latest
developments in information technology,
but also require being service-oriented
rather than collection building oriented.
Marketing of information products and
services and other management
techniques also become vital in this
context.
This programme aims at providing in-
service training to Library & Information
professionals with the following objectives:
· To enhance knowledge about latest
developments in the field of library and
information services
· To acquaint with the diverse electronic
information sources that help in capacity
building as well as providing user-oriented
information services and products
· To provide insight into sharing resources
electronically and use of e-networks to
provide efficient service
· To provide opportunity to augment
communication and reporting skills.
The programme has been scheduled in
two modules, they are:

Module 2: Communication and
Reporting Skills
The programme would impart both
theoretical and practical knowledge to
the participants.
