16785 - EGR System: Inefficient flow: P0401 - Sporadic 006 - Short to plus 16618 - Boost Pressure Regulation: Limit Exceeded (Over boost Condition) P0234 - Sporadic 006 - Short to plus Anyone come across these before, heard it is often down to a wiring issue on these with both these fault codes showing, Crasher can you confirm this? Customer has supplied these fault codes so not had chance to look at this until tomorrow, trying to get a quick fix as customer needs the car tomorrow evening to do an airport run. Possible sticky turbo vanes? Thanks in advance

FFS

asking for Crasher & a silver bullet.

What MAF value have you got at idle cold & hot & when actuating EGR ??? & are you sure the EGR is vac operated ??

It should be sandwiched between the V157 & intake manifold & they strip teeth/toss the disc & fail for fun. I'm not Crasher & hope i was ok to reply ???????

ENGINE CODE ?

Hardly..........takes more of a man than you, mind you you're only a kid attempting a mans game. Do yourself a favor & get on some courses, the first being basic engine management systems, good luck cup cake

By matt__t - 1/16/2013 3:51:23 PM

What is the build date of this passat ?

By TLDmobilerepair - 1/16/2013 4:55:22 PM

Ive fixed plenty myself, hence self employment for 6 yrs. Every post you jump down my throat. It appears you're one of those know it all guys I gave you the engine code surely a man of your knowledge should know the egr is vac controlled. Surely a man of your superior knowledge should know where the fault my customer lies? All you do on here put people down, guessing your trying to make up for something you don't have in your life. The social part!

By matt__t - 1/16/2013 5:20:30 PM

I may be wrong here and sorry if I am, but are there not two designs one vac controlled and one electronic control with pos. sensor built in. The wiring diagram posted has electronic motor control EGR with a vac operated EGR cooler bypass valve sharing a fuse with n75

Exactly right Matt, which is why i asked for an engine code as my mind reading skills were fading. I saw the same as you did in the diagram that was posted.

By TLDmobilerepair - 1/16/2013 5:53:26 PM

Im not a bullet hunter at all, that's just your opinion. I ask maybe one question on here every two weeks? I do around 5/6 jobs a day so one now and again makes me a bullet hunter from your opinion? Yes I'm not as experienced as you but and don't claim to be, you just shoot everyone down who doesn't have your knowledge. BTW mass air flow. Actual matched desired. I know I've pissed you off when you've got to pick up on a grammar mistake, which is blatant. It's just another thing for you to moan about when in fact you know what I really meant 'Exactly right Matt, which is why i asked for an engine code as my mind reading skills were fading. I saw the same as you did in the diagram that was posted.' Check Autodatas diagrams for 05 Passat 2.0 TDI BKP then Good night Also why now is K And R editing Robski's post's?

By K And R - 1/16/2013 6:01:30 PM

TLD I,m not sure why you continue to post here (maybe because you are not welcome else-where), well guess what you are very, very close to not being welcome here. This thread is a mess because YOU did not post the engine code in your first post along with other mistakes. Begging Crasher for help is sad when so many others could have helped, i,m sure if you just phoned him he would be helpful, and if you

Im not sure why Robski continues to post here and you edit his posts? The customer needed the vehicle for this evening which is why I was in a rush and hoping Crasher would have a solution asap. OK yes I agree I should of posted the engine code first off. Autodatas wiring data is in correct for the engine code. Thats what I was going off. ALSO, you can see Robski enjoys a wind up, inform him as well I wont even continue this thread as it'll go on and on and on

I have wound Robski up for years on other forum,s and he has never had to call me a C.

Unless you have not noticed i have edited yours and Robski,s post,s

"I wont even continue this thread as it'll go on and on and on"

That would be GOOD but it won,t go on and on and on, i will see it won,t.

Goodnight.

Kev.

Not sure if your Autodata is up to date TLD, but the diagram posted in the first post does not show the EGR valve on Autodata Online. The valve is a 5-pin one and is on the bottom right of the ECM in the diagram.
