AT&T ENHANCES LOCAL WIRELESS NETWORK FOR SUMMER EVENTS AT FORT ADAMS
Company Expands Wireless Network Capacity, Just in Time for Folk and Jazz Festivals NEWPORT, R.I. JULY 22, 2013 As more than 10,000 music fans are set to converge on Fort Adams State Park this weekend for the folk festival, AT&T* is boosting network capacity to help its customers have a great wireless experience.

The company has deployed a temporary cell on wheel (COW) for expanded mobile broadband coverage to accommodate expected increased wireless network demands from high concentrations of smartphone users at the folk festival this weekend, the jazz festival in August, and throughout the busy summer tourism season. The augmentations will help improve reliability and data speeds throughout the busy weekend. The temporary enhancements are part of AT&Ts ongoing efforts to prepare for and provide the best possible mobile experience during special events like those at Fort Adams. We want visitors to Fort Adams to have a great network experience, whether theyre making calls, texting photos to their friends, or posting status updates on social networks, said Patricia Jacobs, president, AT&T New England. We deployed a team of network engineers to make local network enhancements that will help provide great connectivity, solid coverage and fast speeds at Fort Adams.
