By: Cecilia Traxler After years of the same-old same-old, a husband-wife team who with lifelong dedication to the restaurant industry, decided to bring something new and exciting to the tableso to speak. Jason Lanham grew up in the outskirts of Atlanta where beef and chicken were always the first choice. His desire for culinary arts grew progressively as he heard more and more about the cuisine in the western United States. After much contemplation he moved to Arizona and started working in a small restaurant where he learned the distinct flavors of the Southwest and how to infuse them into his already sound, Southern, culinary roots. Randi was a thirteenth generation armadillo farmer and was the
turing, what else, armadillo tacos with a signature salsa. As you can guess the armadillo tacos did not go over so well. Not knowing what to do next, fate intervened. Jason, being the only regular at the TacoDillo, convinced Randi there was nothing wrong with the salsa, but maybe the main ingredient. With a few minor changes the TacoDillo was on the road to success. Turns out, the salsa was not the only reason Jason was a regular. After much courting Jason and Randi had fallen in love. The success of the TacoDillo had paid off. They were able to trade it for a Winnebago Limited Cruiser. A road trip across the great United States led them to Blairsville, GA. Where not only Finn Everett was born, but also the Armadillo Grill.

By: Cecilia Traxler Daniel Dan Spade, a local nine-banded armadillo, attempted to roll his body into a ball on Monday although all odds were against him. My dream has always been to ball up and roll around town in style instead of walking around like a half circle, Dan told the The Daily Dillo. He has focused 27-years of his life to this dream, but Mondays attempt became a harsh reality for Dan. After three painful hours of observing Dan, Bruce Finnden, an armadillo expert, informed him that unfortunately, out
of the twenty varieties of armadillos only one or two can roll themselves into a ball. Ive only seen a three-banded armadillo do it once and it was amazing, Finnden stated. Dan Spade only had positive words after his failed attempt, This has been a dream of mine for almost 30 years now and todays failure only makes me want to be the first ninebanded armadillo to achieve the perfect ball. It might take years, but I will achieve my goal one day. Hopefully his determination will finally lead him to success.
