VOID WHERE PROHIBITED CONTEST PERIOD The Bulletins 2013 Travis Brennan Community Heart & Hustle Essay Contest (the Contest) begins at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time (ET) on August 1, 2013 and ends at 5:00 p.m. ET on August 22, 2013 (the Contest Period). ELIGIBILITY - NOMINATOR The Contest is open only to legal residents of the United States who reside in the state of Connecticut and who are eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry (the Nominator or Nominators). Employees, contractors and interns of GateHouse Media, Inc. and GateHouse Media Connecticut Holdings, Inc. (together, GateHouse Media), as well as the businesses appearing on this page (the Business or Businesses), and each of their respective divisions, affiliates, parent companies, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies (including, in each case, immediate family members) are not eligible to enter the Contest. For purposes of this Contest, immediate family members is defined as spouses, siblings, parents, children, grandparents and grandchildren, whether as "in-laws", or by current or past marriage, remarriage, adoption, co-habitation or other familial extension, and any other persons residing at the same household location, whether or not related. In order to enter the Contest, the Nominator must comply fully with these Official Rules (the Rules), and by entering agrees to be bound by these Rules and the decisions of GateHouse Media, whose decisions shall be binding and final in all respects. ELIGIBILITY NOMINATED ATHLETE The Nominated Athlete (as defined below) must have been born between August 1, 1995 and August 1, 2005 and must reside in one of the following counties in the state of Connecticut: Windham or New London County. The Nominated Athlete should not be an immediate family member of any employees, contractors or interns of GateHouse Media or the Businesses, or their respective divisions, affiliates, parent companies, subsidiaries, advertising or promotion agencies. HOW TO OBTAIN AN ENTRY FORM Entry forms for the Contest (the Entry Form or Entry Forms) will be available on page 2 of the Go Connecticut Tigers special section (the Section) of select editions of The Bulletin (the Publication) during the Contest Period. The Publication containing the Section is available for purchase at select locations in and around Norwich, Connecticut beginning August 1, 2013. The Section containing the Entry Form will also be available for pickup at no charge during the Contest Period at the offices of the Publication located at 66 Franklin Street in Norwich, Connecticut. The offices are open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. ET until 4:00 p.m. ET and are closed Saturday and Sunday. HOW TO ENTER THE CONTEST AND SUBMIT AN ESSAY There is no fee to enter the Contest. There are four (4) ways to submit the Entry Form and the Essay (as defined below, and, together with the Entry Form, the Entry Materials) and be entered in the Contest:

The Nominator should mail the Entry Materials to the Publication at the following address: CT Tigers Award Submission, The Bulletin, 66 Franklin Street, Norwich, Connecticut 06360. OR 2. Email. The Nominator should email the Entry Materials to the Publication at the following address: marketing@norwichbulletin.com. OR 3. Hand-Delivery. The Nominator should hand-deliver the Entry Materials to the offices of the Publication located at 66 Franklin Street in Norwich, Connecticut. The offices are open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. ET until 4:00 p.m. ET and are closed Saturday and Sunday. OR 4. Stadium Drop-off. The Nominator should drop off the Entry Materials to Dodd Stadium located at 14 Stott Ave. in Norwich, Connecticut (the Stadium). The Stadium is open on game days. The Stadium will have designated drop boxes and envelopes for the Entry Materials. Entry Materials must be received at the offices of the Publication or the Stadium by 5:00 p.m. ET on August 22, 2013 (the Submission Deadline) . NO ENTRY MATERIALS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS TIME. GateHouse Media will not be responsible for incomplete, lost, late, postage due, misdirected or illegible Entry Materials. Only one (1) entry will be accepted per Nominator during the Contest Period. Incomplete, illegible or inaccurate entries are void. GRANT OF RIGHTS Upon submitting the Entry Materials (including, without limitation, the Essay), whether complete or incomplete, Nominator grants to GateHouse Media and its affiliates the worldwide, non-exclusive, irrevocable, royalty-free, perpetual license to copy, publish, distribute, promote, perform, edit, create derivative works of, or otherwise use portions of Nominators Entry Materials (including, without limitation, the Essay), without charge, for any purpose in connection with this Contest or GateHouse Media or its affiliates businesses in any format, media or technology now known or later developed for the full term of any copyright that may exist in Nominators Entry Materials (including, without limitation, the Essay).

CONTEST RULES

2013 TRAVIS BRENNAN COMMUNITY HEART & HUSTLE ESSAY CONTEST THE BULLETIN 1. The object of the Contest is to recognize young athletes in Eastern Connecticut who show exemplary community service and athletic achievement (the Nominated Athlete or the Nominated Athletes). 2. The Nominator should submit an essay that describes why the Nominated Athlete should be chosen to receive the 2013 Travis Brennan Heart & Hustle Award (the Essay or Essays). The Essay should include how the Nominated Athlete demonstrates some of the following qualifications: (a) persistence in giving personal best, (b) inspiring example to others, (c) peer leadership, (d) strong contribution to school and community through volunteerism, school clubs, extracurricular activities, projects, etc., (e) positive attitude, (f) perseverance (i.e. overcoming a handicap or other personal difficulty) or (g) love of learning and desire, determination and diligence to improve (collectively, the Athlete Qualifications). 3. The Essay must be in English, typed, double-spaced, 250 words or less and on 8 by 11 inch paper. Essays must consist of only black and white text without images. 4. The Essay must be Nominators original creation and not have been published or be under consideration for publication or prizes elsewhere. 5. All decisions regarding these definitions or a Nominators ability to meet these definitions lies within the sole discretion of GateHouse Media. 6. Entry Materials will not be acknowledged or returned to the Nominator. SELECTION OF WINNER; JUDGING; NOTIFICATION OF WINNER The judging of the Essays will take place at the offices of the Publication on or around August 23, 2013. One winner (the Winner) will be chosen. The judging panel (the Panel) will consist of a qualified representatives of the Publication and a member of the management team of the CT Tigers. The Panel will judge each Essay based on the compelling nature of the Essay on how the Nominated Athlete demonstrates some of the Athlete Qualifications (the Judging Criteria). In the event of a tie, GateHouse Media, in its sole discretion, will make the tie-breaking decision. All decisions of the Panel are final as to all matters. GateHouse Media reserves the right to take more time to determine the Winner as it deems necessary in its sole discretion. On or around August 26, 2013, the parent or legal guardian of the Winner will be notified by telephone or e-mail in accordance with the contact information provided on the Entry Form, and must complete, sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability and Publicity Release in order to be eligible to accept the prize. The Winner will also be announced in a future edition of the Publication. ODDS OF WINNING Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible Essays submitted and how the Essays meet the Judging Criteria established for this Contest.

2013 TRAVIS BRENNAN COMMUNITY HEART & HUSTLE ESSAY CONTEST THE BULLETIN PRIZE The Winner will receive a 2013 Travis Brennan Heart and Hustle Award plaque at a ceremony that will take place at a baseball game at Dodd Stadium on or around August 30, 2013. No substitution or transfer of the prize will be allowed, except at the sole discretion of GateHouse Media. GateHouse Media reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value. All local, state and federal taxes incurred by accepting a prize will be the sole responsibility of the prize winner. The prize has no cash value and may not be redeemed for cash at any time. CONDITIONS By entering, Nominators agree to comply with these Official Rules and the decisions of GateHouse Media, which are binding and final, and release GateHouse Media and each of its divisions, affiliates, parent companies, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies and anyone associated with the production of this Contest, and their respective directors, officers, employees and agents from any and all liability for any claims, injuries, losses or damages (including attorneys fees) of any kind arising out of their participation in this Contest or resulting from acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any prize. The potential prize winner waives the right to assert as a cost of winning the prize any and all costs of verification and redemption or travel to redeem said prize and waives any liability or claims (including attorneys fees) which might arise from redeeming or seeking to redeem said prize. In the event of non-compliance with these Official Rules, or if award notification is returned to GateHouse Media, as undeliverable, if the award is refused or cannot be accepted for any reason, the award will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be selected. Upon forfeiture or refusal, no compensation will be given. Acceptance of award constitutes permission to use the winner's name, photograph, likeness and/or statements attributed to winner regarding the Contest, for advertising and publicity purposes without further compensation or consent. All entries become the property of GateHouse Media. This Contest shall only be construed and evaluated according to the laws of the state of Connecticut, without regard to the principles of conflicts of laws and submission of any entry constitutes acceptance of such laws. This Contest is void where prohibited. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. INTERNET It is the Nominators responsibility to enter in the appropriate manner. Each Nominator that decides to email their submission is responsible for all costs or charges involved in accessing the internet and warrants that the cost of accessing the site, if any, is part of a larger agreement with an Internet Service Provider or some other means, and that the cost of this access is not an incremental cost. If for any reason the internet portion of the program is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of GateHouse Media which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Contest, GateHouse Media reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Contest. GateHouse Media assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communication line failure, theft, or destruction or

GateHouse Media is not responsible for lost, misdirected, illegible, damaged or undelivered entries. GateHouse Media is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunctions of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, services or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email or entry to be received due to technical problems or traffic congestion on the internet or at any web site, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading of any material in this Contest. CAUTION: Any attempt by an Nominator to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, GateHouse Media reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. In the event of a dispute, entries made by Internet will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at time of entry. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization (e.g. business, educational institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Automated entries are prohibited, and any use of such devices will cause disqualification. Collection and use of personally identifiable information will be in accordance with the Publications Privacy Policy as posted on www.norwichbulletin.com. GateHouse Media and its affiliates reserve the right to change the rules of the Contest at any time.
