Just Around The Corner... God Is The Issue

God is the issue [with regard to sin]. God is love, and when I hate, I violate the nature of God and I sin against him. It's not at all likely that I'll ever do anything very violent to the [particular] person in question [with whom I am angry]; middle class gentility will keep me from it. But in my heart I will have violated God, who is love - and who has invested love in you and in me. And when we understand that God is the issue in defining sin, we will also begin to understand the remedy for sin.... It is so serious an issue that it can be remedied only by the supreme sacrifice of the Son of God. -J. Ellsworth Kalas in the sermon "The God Issue

Silence is necessary There is so much good in the worst of us, And so much bad in the best of us, That it hardly becomes any of us To talk about the rest of us. -Anonymous

Dont Miss Your Chance to Bless and Be Blessed...The Needs are Many Prayer GUIDE for 60 Days of Passionate Prayer
53 So many people lack a loving relationship with You. Lord, help my witnessing efforts bring good news and hope to the desperate of heart. 54 In my everyday life, Lord, help me to activate my faith by involving myself in mission action activities. 55 Lord, lead me to grasp the fact that the cost of being a disciple of Christ is always high. Give me courage to be a missions disciple every day I live. 56 Father, lead me to involve others to see that, Missions is as new as tomorrow because it visualizes what cant be seen and makes it a reality for the future (Jesse Fletcher, 1973 WMU Annual Meeting, Portland, Oregon). 57 In guiding us to provide for WMUs future You gave that vision through the Second Century Fund (1988) and the WMU Foundation (1995). Thank You, Lord. 58 Thank You for calling me to serve You through WMU. Help me see the open doors You have placed before me. 59 Praise You, Lord, for the opportunity to read Matthew 28:1920 and know we already have directions. Give us courage now to obey You. 60 Father, I pray that WMU of the future will stay focused on Your purposes, stand fast and firm, take action, and never waver even in the midst of the worlds challenges.

There Once Was a Rich Man... There once was a rich man who was near death. He was very grieved because he had worked so hard for his money and he wanted to be able to take it with him to heaven. So he began to pray that he might be able to take some of his wealth with him. An angel hears his plea and appears to him. "Sorry, but you can't take your wealth with you." The man implores the angel to speak to God to see if He might bend the rules. The man continues to pray that his wealth could follow him. The angel reappears and informs the man that God has decided to allow him to take one suitcase with him. Overjoyed, the man gathers his largest suitcase and fills it with pure gold bars and places it beside his bed. Soon afterward the man dies and shows up at the Gates of Heaven to greet St. Peter. St. Peter seeing the suitcase says, "Hold on, you can't bring that in here!" But, the man explains to St. Peter that he has permission and asks him to verify his story with the Lord. Sure enough, St. Peter checks and comes back saying, "You're right. You are allowed one carry-on bag, but I'm supposed to check its contents before letting it through." St. Peter opens the suitcase to inspect the worldly items that the man found too precious to leave behind and exclaims, "You brought pavement?!!!"
