Serrano Block 4c1-BSM Corporate Business Efficiency: the use of resources so as to maximize the production of goods and services Shown when Flik invented a tool which could speed up food gathering and to maximize their capacities and time. Effectiveness: relates to getting the right things done This is shown when the ant colony joint efforts to one common goal and plan, particulary seen during food gathering and the creation of the bird. Productivity: is a measure of output from a production process, per unit of input. The capacity of each ant to gather x number of food at a given time. Optimizing: To make as perfect or effective as possible. Implementing their plan that is most likely intented to be implemented and would work as it was intended to be. Satisfying: is a decision-making strategy that attempts to meet criteria for adequacy, rather than to identify an optimal solution. A satisficing strategy may often be (near) optimal if the costs of the decision-making process itself, such as the cost of obtaining complete information, are considered in the outcome calculus. Seen, all throughout the film particularly when they are planning to strategize against their enemies. Mass production: is the production of large amounts of standardized products, including and especially on assembly lines. Seen all throughout the ant colony. Product Development: the complete process of bringing a new product or service to market. Service Organization: process to be followed intended for a particular organization Product Organization: process to be followed intended for a particular product. Maximizing The word maximize according to Farlex is defined as an increase to make a great deal possible by taking in opportunities with highest possible importance. In the film, the Bugs Life, the ant colony must increase their food collection to soothe the needs of booth the grasshoppers and the colony. Due to the misfortune caused by Flik, the whole colony suffers and is in danger because they have to increase their capacities for food gathering because the demand by the grasshoppers has been doubled. Aside from the double demand which they have to fulfill, the ant colony must also double production in order to save food especially for the coming rainy season. Not only did the ant colony show and practice the idea of maximization through food gathering but also through the use of resources and their creativity in creating the bird, which they considered their strongest weapon against the grasshoppers. Custom Production Production and custom has been defined by Farlex, as a total output of a certain commodity; while custom is defined as something made to order or a specialization in making or creating goods and services. When taken, as one custom production is a manufacturing or assembly of goods and services intended for a particular user. To relate, the film depicts an example of custom production. The ant colony as the production line of food gatherers intends to collect food in double demand intended for one consumer; the grasshoppers. As the film progresses, their production was then more focused for themselves after winning the battle against the grasshoppers, but still the same concept applies. Moreover, to speed up production, Flik introduced new inovations or ways to gather more seeds but unfortunately this was never given a chance.
