Jesus commanded his disciples to "go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation" (Mark 16:15). That same imperative from Christ has echoed through the centuries to Christians oftoday. Jesus* message of hope and salvation must be proclaimed NOW to the far
corners of the earth.

INTRODUCING THE MYSINGER FAMILY

Gary and Liz Mysinger are two twentieth century Christians who desire to reproduce first century Christianity in foreign countries. Both are

Oklahoma-cityans and graduates of Midwest Christian College there. Liz has been a member of the Antloch Christian Church since her youth. The Draper Park Christian Church is Gary's "spiritual cradle". They have two
children, Mindy Beth and Julia Suzanne. On December 31,1976, Gary and Liz arrived in the West Indies island of Puerto Rico to begin an evangelistic thrust with the Levlttown Church

of Christ. For the next four and one-half years, they labored in various phases of outreach, such as prison and drug rehabilitation ministries, youth activities, preaching, teaching, calling, literature distribution,
counseling, etc.

While working in Puerto Rico, the Mysingers considered various future avenues of Christian service. After much prayer, meditation, advice and thought, they decided to relocate to the neighboring island of the

Dominican Republic. They returned to the United States In May of 1981. They are currently visiting congregations In this country in search of additional monetary support. Their goal for returning to the Caribbean is
February of 1982.
THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

Discovered by Christopher Columbus on December 5, 1492, the island was claimed as a possession of Spain. The first European settle

ment in the New World was established there, as well as the first library, university and hospital. It remained a Spanish colony until 1844; it

declared Independence from the mother country. The Dominican Republic lies about 600 miles southeast from Miami, Florida. The terrain Is mountainous, yet huge, flat valleys sprawl between ranges. Many crops grow there, such as rice, bananas, peanuts, tobacco, sugar, corn and pineapple; in fact, 80% of the economy is bas ed on agriculture. Mining Is also productive. Iron, nickel, zinc, silver and gold are extracted from the soil. (The nation is the world's fifth largest producer of gold.) The population of the republic is currently about 5 V2 million. They are mostly "mulattos" (people who have mixed white and negro ancestry). The average per capita Income is $880 a year. The literacy rate stands at 76.7%. The Spanish language and culture have predominated since colonial days. The Roman Catholic Church is the official religion of the nation. Despite proselytizing by evangelicals, 97% of the populace still affiliates
with Catholicism. Church and state maintain close ties there.

THE EVANGELISTIC CHALLENGE

The Mysinger family desires to proclaim biblical Christianity In the Dominican Republic. Their basic goal is to establish new churches. They desire to locate in the city of San Francisco de Macoris. It Is the third largest city In the nation with a population of 82,000. The Mysingers hope to employ several methods of outreach. Youth ministry will be high on the agenda. Literature distribution will introduce the good news to many. Biblestudy courses will be offered, and follow-up

will seek out the receptive students. Leadership training will ensue the
conversion of the Dominicans. In addition, since the republic is a poor country, various social programs will be employed to uplift and assist the
people.

The Mysinger family is confident that great things are in store for their future efforts of outreach in the Dominican Republic. They covet the prayers and moral support of Christians everywhere. They see themselves as but a small segment of the worldwide body of Christ, dependent upon the other members of that body In order to function pro perly and effectively. Their hopes are to see the llfe-glving gospel go as far into all the world as means make possible. With God's help, great
things will be done.

EVANGELICALS ON THE RISE IN THE REPUBLIC

There is a steadily increasing community of non-Roman Catholic believers in Christ

HJPDATE
DEPARTURE SET FOR MAY 31

In the morning of May 31, we will depart from the USA and return to the West Indies. We will have completed a year of traveling and speaking to churches in the

Southwest.

We are eagerly anticipating our involvement in an evangelistic outreach in

the Dominican "Republic.

We originally planned to leave in February, but could not find sufficient funds.
We have since then found additional sponsors. However, the new total of monthly receipts still will not meet our proposed budget. But we will continue anyway and utilize what we receive. We're certain that many victories await us in the near future.
MONEY NEEDED FOR RELOCATION

We are about $3,000 short of our goal of money needed to relocate to the DR. This money is needed to get us and our belongings from Oklahoma City to our new home in that country. It will cover costs of travel shipping, auto
and literature purchase, taxes, etc.

We are making a special appeal to our readers. We ask that you consider making a one-time contribution to this fund. Specially mark your envelope
with "Relocation Fund" and send the check to:

CHANGE IN RELOCATION PLAIJS

Thanks!

We have recently altered our plans for relocation to the city of San Francisco de Macoris. Instead, we will move to the northern coastal city of Puerto Plata. This city is an important commercial, shipping and resort spot. The substance for urging this relocation came from Bill Loft, veteran missionary currently laboring in Santiago, DR. He has made some strong gospel contacts in Puerto Plata. As a result, there are beginnings of two churches in that city. We have been
asked to move there and assist the leaders of the churches. In addition, we will

travel to nearby towns and seek to begin outher congregations.

SOJOURNINGS.

Our travels during March and April have taken us near and far.

March 14 - Hillside Christian Church - Nowata, OK Anrll 4 - Valley View Christian Church - Dallas, TX April 4 - Story Road Christian Church - Irving, TX
April 18 - First Christian Church - Hydro, OK April 25 - Westview Christian Church - Shreveport, LA

We thank the friendly people for their meals and lodging that we encountered in these journeys. They greatly enhance the experience of travel.

PRAYER ASSAULT

We ask for your prayers for a good, positive and effective beginning to the soonto-be outreach to the northern coastal region of the Dominican Republic. Let's join hearts in prayer that the paths will be prepared for a harvest of many souls in that country. We should also ask that those currently involved in gospel witness there may
see many works and wonders take place.

Sat\;irdays are survey days for us. We have been visiting towns and communities in the general district of Puerto Plata, searching for spots which might be fertile soil for es tablishing new churches. We visit the students of a Bible study course offered by radio from Bill Loft and his workers in Santiago. These pri mary contacts greatly help us in es tablishing familiarity in an other wise unfamiliar community. One such neighborhood that we visited is called Vuelta Larga. It is a township of about 900 souls; in its 150 year history, there has not been a permanently established chur ch of any kind. It is true that the majority of the people there confess Roman Catholicism? yet, apart from their casual confession, they have little or no knowledge of the Bible.
