The counselling for allocation of branches to the shortlisted candidates will be based only on their AllIndiaRanks(AIR) inthe VITMEE2013. The venue for counselling will be at VIT University Vellore Campus and Chennai Campus in Tamil Nadu.MultiCity Counselling willbeheldsimultaneouslybothinVelloreandChennai.Candidatescan attendcounseling inVelloreORChennai andchoose thebranch offered/availablein VelloreOR Chennaicampus. Details of various branches offered under the M.Tech. Degree programme in the current year, the totalnumber ofseats allocatedfor each branch willbedisplayed at the counselling centre to help thecandidatesmake theirchoice. Candidates willbeallotted the branchandthecampusthey preferbasedon theavailability. Candidates presence at the time of counselling is mandatory, no one else would be allowed toparticipateincounsellingonbehalf ofthe candidate. The Registration will begin at 8.00 am and over by 9.30 am. The counselling will begin, immediately

aftertheregistration. Candidates reporting after 10.30 a.m. would be allowed to attend counselling in the afternoon sessiononly. Ifacandidate reports after2.30 p.m.,he/shewouldbeallowedtoparticipate onlyonthe nextdayof counselling.(OnlyforM.TechProgrammesnotforMCA) The Counselling process may extend upto late evening, students / parents are requested to plan their travel accordingly. Parents shouldaccompany theirward at the time ofcounselingitnecessary. Verification of documents pertaining to mark sheet of the qualifying examination, community nativity (if applicable) and other eligibility criteriawill be first done before the candidate is allowed to participateinthecounselling. No change of date / time of counselling is permissible. If a candidate fails to appear for counselling on the date and time specified, his / her seat will be offered to the next candidate in the order of merit. However, due to unforeseen reasons, if a candidate is unable to attend counselling on the specified date and time, he / she can attend on a subsequent date / time, after duly intimating the office. Thecandidate can only opt for the branch available at that time and cannot claim any other branchasper his/heroriginalturn orseniority.(ExceptMCA) After counselling for a particular day isover, the number of seats (branch wise) still available forallotment on the next day of counselling, will be published in our website and also be displayed on thenoticeboardofthe universityfor the benefit of candidates. If the marks statement of the qualifying exam has not been received before the date of counselling, the candidate should furnish an undertaking stating that if he / she fails to qualify as per the Eligibilitynorms,he/shewill forfeitthe seatallotted. A candidate should decide for certain on whether he / she should join the programme based on thebranchallottedtohim /heratthe time of counselling before the payment ofthe fee. Allotmentofbranchonce made isfinaland cannot bechangedunder any circumstances. Morethan the required numbersofcandidateshavebeeninvitedforthe VITMEE2013Counselling foradmissiontoM.Tech./MCADegree Programmes. Therefore, itisnot guaranteed thateverybody reporting forcounseling/Interviewwill besureofgetting aseat inM. Tech/MCA Programmes.

FACILITIES AVAILABLEINVIT

HOSTEL FACILITIES : Separate Hostel facilities are available for boys and girlsin Vellore and Chennai Campuses. (for details log on to vit website: www.vit.ac.in) Candidates can reserve the roomon payment of an advance of Rs.20,000/ in form of DD drawn in favour of VIT University,payableatVellore.

CANTEEN FACILITY

The VIT campus is located on a 300 acre site on the Ranipet Katpadi Road. It is 2 hours drive from Chennai (Formerly Madras) by Road and 4 hours from Bangalore (considered the silicon valley of India). Both the cities are well connected by road, rail and air routes with all parts of the country and also have internationalairports.

The airport nearest to Vellore is in Chennai. From the airport, you can go to the bus stand at Koyambedu orto the Central Railway Station to take a bus or train to Vellore. Train and bus services to Vellore are frequent, cheap and quite satisfactory. Either journey takes about 2 hours. If you choose to travel by train, you should buy your ticket to Katpadi Railway Station which is just 2km away from VIT. Buses from Chennai will bring you right to the centre of the town of Vellore from where you can reach VIT which is about5km fromthe busstand.

TRANSPORTATION INVELLORE

Auto Rickshaws (on share basis) are easily available from both Railway station and bus stand to Chitoor bus stop. Government Buses will ply between Chittoor bus stop to VIT. You could also hire exclusive auto rickshawsto reach VITandVITwillarrangethetransportfacilities(shuttleservice)fromChittoorBusStopto VITUniversitytimings7.00amto9.00am.

VITUniversity Chennai Campus is located midway between Vandalur Zoo and Kelambakkam in
South Chennai in the State of Tamil Nadu. It is 30 km away from Chennai International Airport and 42 km away from ChennaiCentralJunction.It is easily accessible by Metro Trainand Deluxe Buses from both ChennaiAirport and Central Railway Junction.
