Red Salute to Comrade Paltu Sen The Delhi committee of CPI (M-L) New Democracy pays homage to the memory of Comrade Paltu Sen (Amar Sen), Central Committee member of the CPI (M-L) New Democracy and president of national Committee of Indian Federation of Trade Unions, who died yesterday evening in West Bengal after a massive heart attack. He was 63 years old. Com. Amar Sen joined the revolutionary movement at a very young age when he was in high school. He was part of first batch of students and youth who joined the movement immediately after Naxalbari uprising. He was in jail for almost 8 years with a life term and was released post emergency. His entire revolutionary life was as full time worker of the Part. His field of work was West Bengal, more specifically the industrial belt of Hooghly where he personally led several massive working class struggles and was a dearly beloved leader of the workers. He was known by name of Paltu Sen popularly. Com. Amar Sen (Paltu Sen) has been associated with Indian Federation of Trade Unions since its founding and has been longtime All-India President of revolutionary trade union centre. Under his leadership IFTU has steadfastly opposed imperialist globalization, the pro corporate, pro MNC new economic policies and also the attacks on working class jobs and rights especially on labour laws by anti worker anti people rulers of India who put the interests of imperialism foremost and loot the Indian working class in their in their interests. Currently, he had been leading IFTU in opposing contactualization of regular jobs, fighting for rights of these workers and on organizing the working class, which is mostly unorganized. IFTU has kept alive the vision of revolutionary changes by inspiring the working class for new democratic revolution in India. Com. Paltu Sen was also the secretary of the West Bengal Committee of the Party. Today his body will be kept at the Calcutta Office of the Party from 12 noon before being taken in a procession to College Street. It will then be taken to Hooghly and be kept at IFTU office before being cremated. Delhi Party Committee is holding several meetings today in various areas to pay homage to Paltu Sen, revolutionary fighter, upholder of the path of Naxalbari, and valiant fighter against the neo revisionist politics and policies. Under his leadership the Party in West Bengal had kept alive and furthered the revolutionary vision under the long left front CPM led reformist rule.
