Its always good to pray for others. It reminds us that were not the center of the universe & that were created to be connected to our brothers & sisters in Christ, even those we do not know. So please say a prayer for the mother of Eric Lenhoff who passed away. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for her at St. Basil Church in Brecksville. Eric is a parishioner along with his wife Tracy whom weve been praying for during the last year for the remission of her cancer. They have eight children & they take up a whole pew at church! Were glad theyre part of our parish family & we extend our sympathy to Eric and to the whole family. I also ask your prayers for Barb Ciuca who has been in the hospital due to a stroke. She seems to be recovering well and is in rehab now with the hopes of coming home soon. I assured her of our prayers so please call upon Our Lady, help of the sick, to intercede for her and for all those who are ill or homebound in our parish. Soon we will commission two more parishioners as Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist: Damon & Lori Linder. Congratulations to them. Were thankful they are willing to serve the community in this particular way. Both are involved in other ways too...Lori as a member of the Ladies Guild & Damon as a Lector and member of Parish Council. God bless them both for their involvement in our community. It seems that our Holy Father had quite a following in Rio during his week-long visit there. He celebrated a seaside Mass which drew three-million worshippers to the famous Copacabana beach, which had been temporarily renamed Popeacabana. We hope that his message during this World Youth Day event will continue to take root in the lives of the people there, especially the young. What a gift the Holy Spirit has given to the Catholic Church. May he proclaim the Gospel by the power of that same Spirit.

Say I Love You by taking time for the two of you at the Worldwide Marriage Encounter Weekend. Celebrate the gift of love GOD has given you in one another and learn more communication techniques of a CHRIST-centered marriage filled with romance and intimacy. Upcoming weekends are on September 13 to 15 in Villa Maria, PA, (near Boardman, Ohio just over the Ohio border) and October 18 to 20 in Green, Ohio. For more information or to apply for a Marriage Encounter Weekend Call 330 305 9963, or email WorldwideME@sssnet.com, or go to website at WWME.org. What is Sin? A sin is a word, deed, or intention by which a man or woman deliberately and voluntarily offends against the true order of things as Gods loving providence has arranged them. It is more than violating some rules; sin turns freely and deliberately against Gods love and ignores him. St. Augustine wrote, Sin is ultimately love of oneself even to contempt of God. It does become possible to recognize sin and its seriousness by drawing near to God.
