INTRODUCTION

Hi! I am Zack. I play hockey at

Tri-County Deck Sports in Transfer,

PA. I play for the Scarecrow team. I

am a roller hockey player. We took

second place in our section this year.

I had a great year with my friends!

Two of my best friends on my team

were Josh1 and

Josh2. I had 28 goals this season. I

was the best defensive player on my

team. We played 13 games. We

were 8-5. I was good at hockey. I

think so anyway. The best player, Eli

could not get past me. We had a

scoreboard and a person that tells

over a loud speaker when you score.

I scored more goals than the other 7

people on my team. We made it to

the championship. We lost 3-4 to

Frostbite.

This is my book about hockey. I

 POSITIONS

 Center: The center wins

face-offs and scores goals.

 Right wing: The right wing

is to the right of the center.
He gets the puck after it’s
dropped.

 Left wing: It does the same

thing as the right wing.

 Defense: The defense

protects the goals.

 Goalie: The goalie tries to

save the puck.

How to turn a bad shot into a good
shot:

 Slapshot: Raise your stick

in the air all the way. Then
you line up with the puck
and you shoot.

 Wristshot: Raise your stick

ankle, then you line up with
the puck and shoot.

 Wrist/slapshot: Raise your

stick to your waist. Then
line up with the puck and
shoot.

 When you play hockey you’re

only allowed five player’s
including the goalie.

 If you wonder why hockey is so

violent here’s why. There are
big checks and fights.

 Some teams are not doing so

well this year.

 OUR CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

This is what happened at the last

game. We played Frostbite, the best

team in the league. Our colors were

black and orange. Frostbite’s colors

were baby blue and white. We

started the game good. We scored

the first two goals. They came back

in the second period. Into the third

period, we scored one more. Now

we’re in the lead. They scored two

after that. With 20 seconds left, we

score to tie it up. We had to go into

overtime. It was scoreless. Now

we’re having a Shootout! Eli is up.

He shoots and scores. I’m up! I

shoot, but the goalie saves it.

Frostbite is #1. My team, Scarecrow

took second. I don’t care, though. We

got a medal. Frostbite got trophies.
