WHAT HAPPE S WHE WE WORSHIP OTHER THI GS? 1. If we worship the creature instead of the Creator, God will give us over to our lusts and uncleaness. Romans 1:24-25 ESV Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, (25) because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen. 2. If we turn aside from God and make anything or anyone else our god, we will be cursed by the LORD and destroyed. Deuteronomy 11:16-17 ESV Take care lest your heart be deceived, and you turn aside and serve other gods and worship them; (17) then the anger of the LORD will be kindled against you, and he will shut up the heavens, so that there will be no rain, and the land will yield no fruit, and you will perish quickly off the good land that the LORD is giving you. Praise and Worship are as personal and intimate as our prayers and repentance. God knows our hearts. He wants us in a deep personal relationship with Him. We need to praise and worship Him in public and in private. This is not just a church thing once or twice a week. We need to live in a state of praise and worship, just as we need to live in prayer and always have a soft repentant heart. God is our Father, not like human fathers who are imperfect. Our Father in Heaven is perfect, loving, kind, merciful and gentle to His children. We need to make Him special in our prayer, praise and worship and call him Daddy! Mark 14:36 KJV And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt. Romans 8:15 KJV For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. Jesus wants us to sit with Him on His throne forever, but He will not share it with a stranger. Matthew 25:12 CEV But the groom replied, "I don't even know you!" Hebrews 4:16 KJV Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
