Food Pyramid

Goal: The children will be able to identify the go, glow, and grow foods in the food pyramid. Curriculum Area: Science Developmental Focus: Cognitive- Critical Thinking Location/Interest Center: Inside Circle Participants: 8-10 children Time: 10-20 minutes Age Range: 4 and 5 year old Materials: Food Pyramid Chart Fake foods Ask the children to bring different kinds of food. Preparation/Set Up: Place the food that the children brought on the table. Set up carpet for Group Time. Teaching Strategies: 1. Show the chart of the food pyramid. Introduce to the class the food pyramid. 2. Let them classify the food they brought as go, glow, and grow. 3. Ask: Why should you eat nutritious foods, instead of junk foods? Telling About Yourself

The Primary Colors

Goal: The children will know the needs of a growing child.

Shapes of Fruits
