Repairs Update
The Pews will be taken out from the 8th August which will allow us to see the scope of the nave opened up. Our Architect has just finished the specification and schedule of works, he is now going out to tender for the main contractor Faculty permission from the Diocesan Registrar is being sought and will be in place by the end of autumn

Because of timescales relating to bats we will have to wait until spring to begin the repair works which will now include re-slating the nave roof and south aisle roof, timber roof beam replacement, rebuilding of north aisle stone columns, making good damage to floor following the mains water pipe burst some eleven years ago. It is hoped that work should be complete by autumn 2014

What about the future?

Following the return of many response sheets we are starting a study into uses for the church after the repairs are completed including the need for a climbing wall in the tower space, outdoor pursuits centre, community cinema, community cafe, business centre and public services i.e. health/finance. We believe it is vital that the church is fully part of the community as well as being there for Sunday worship and your family baptisms, weddings and funerals.

Why join the roll?

Joining the electoral roll is an important way of confirming your commitment to St James community and to the vision of the church within the village. But it also opens up the way for
