Assignment
Think about whether you have a career goal or goals. If you have a goal, do you think you set it based on self-insight or did you feel pressured into setting a career goal? Why? If you have not set a career goal, do you believe it is because you are developmentally or chronically undecided? Why? What steps should you take next and why?

Every one wants a successful career. For being successful it is required to set a career goal or goals. But most of the people are not able to set a goal in their earlier life. They become undecided about setting their career goals. This indecision is basically two typesdevelopmental indecision and chronic indecision. The developmentally undecided means being undecided that means persons who has limited knowledge and experience for deciding about his career goal and the other one is chronically undecided means being indecisive that means persons who has lack of sufficient self- information, lower self- confidence, display more extensive decision-making fear and anxiety and experience extensive situational constraints. On the basis of the above mention concept of developmental and chronic indecision I think I am in the category of chronically undecided group. For the following reasons I am in that group: Lack of decision-making self confidence: In the recent few months I am thinking about my career goal. First I think I am preparing for the job of Multinational Company. But after some days I change my decision because I dont have that much skill to work in a competitive environment although I actually dont know is about that I have the skill or not. It shows that I have lack of decision-making self confidence. Decision-making fear and anxiety: When I go for apply in any job that time I feel a fear about my preparation for that job exam and I feel anxiety that its not my task to go for that job. It shows that I have decision-making fear and anxiety.

Situational constraints: I have a passion about the profession of chartered accountant but in my current family condition it is not possible to go for that goal because my needs support from me as quick as possible. Thats why I need an immediate job rather than go for my passion. It shows that I have situational constraints..

Next steps
For setting a career goal first I have to take some steps to overcome my chronic indecision problem. Those steps are given bellow:

i.

Accumulate additional decision about my confidence level, fear, anxiety from my family, friends. Peers and other sources.

ii.

Attending the career counseling related seminars, workshops and other events to reduce my stress, anxiety and tension regarding my career.

iii.

Taking advice from seniors about the preparation of job interview as well as try to understand the current market condition of job market.

iv.

Always trying to receive feedback from my seniors, friends, family and peers about the improvement of my chronic indecision problem.

v.

Group consulting with friends.

The above mentioned steps help me to reduce my chronic indecision problem as well as helping me to set a better career goal. The implementation of those activities will ensure a better future as well as better career for me.
