DETAILED SPECIFICATION 19.1 Pump For pump detailed specification refers to Specification Attachment 1 "Centrifugal Pumps", which is a part of this Specification. 19.2 Combustion Gas Turbine For Combustion Gas Turbine detailed Specification refers to Specification Attachment 2, "Combustion Gas Turbine", that is a part of this Specification. 19.3 Lubrication System For lubrication system detailed specification refers to specification Attachment 3, "Lubrication, Shaft Sealing and Control oil System for gas turbine driven main line pumping set" which is a part of this specification. 19.4 Electrical And Control System Each turbo-pump unit shall be supplied with the following item; 1) Local control panel (Section 19.4.1) 2) Instrumentations for remote installation (Section 19.4.1.4) 3) Electrical panel, AC/DC panel and two sets of batteries (Section 19.4.3) 4) Air conditioned container (section 19.4.4) 19.4.1 Local Control Panel 19.4.1.1 It should be possible to control each turbo-pump unit either from local control panel (supplied by turbo-pump MFR) or from remote central control panel (supplied by other), upon local/remote selection. LOCAL/REMOTE selector switch will be installed on local control panel. Informative and protective signals to be effective on both panels in any position of selector switch. 19.4.1.2 The turbine and pump unit shall be furnished with local control panel. All necessary hardwares for independent operation of the unit shall be housed, mainly, in local panel such as control instrumentations, alarm annunciator, CRT if any. Control push buttons, switches and all needed relays or PLC for automatic start and stop sequence, alarm display, unit shutdown, sequence for opening and closing of suction, recirculation, and discharge valves, sequence for degassing of pump and so forth ( total of four motor operated valves). 16

19.4.1.3 Turbine and pump unit integral with local panel shall be fully selfsufficient and be properly operative in both cases of local selection or complete malfunction of central control panel. Malfunction of local panel will cause unit shutdown. 19.4.1.4 All requisite instrumentations, alarms, CRT if any, and control signals for remote operation shall also be provided by turbine and pump manufacturer, as free issue item to be sent to central control panel manufacturer for installation. These items could be provided either individually or fixed on instrument racks with rails to be inserted into the dedicated area of the central control panel. 19.4.2 Operating Modes 19.4.2.1 Each turbo-pump unit should be operated through two similar 4-position selector switches in four modes. One supplied by pump and turbine manufacturer and installed on local panel the other supplied by others and installed on central control panel. Local panel 4-position selector switch may be effective upon selection of "LOCAL" status from local control panel. Operating modes are detailed as follows: 19.4.2.2 "M.L." - Manual Local Operation Upon selection of "M.L." position, all starting and stopping operations shall be carried out from the field manually (especially for 4 MOVS). 19.4.2.3 "M.P." - Manual panel Operation "M.P." position allows operation from the panel when appropriate pushbuttons are depressed. 19.4.2.4 "P.A." - Panel Automatic The starting operation of pumping unit is fully automatic. 19.4.2.5 "OFF" - Off position All control circuitry shall be de-energized for maintenance or modification purposes. 19.4.2.6 All monitoring and alarm circuits should be energized regardless of the position of the selector switches. 19.4.2.7 The overall unit operation, under normal conditions is to be controlled from central control panel through station main suction, discharge pressure and flow controllers, supplied by others. Control system design data should be provided. The output of this control system shall control each pump individually and also all operating pumps simultaneously. 19.4.3 Electrical Panel 19.4.3.1 Each turbo-pump unit shall be equipped with an electric panel, with the following circuits: - 2 Nos. of incomers each fitted with one MCCB to accept a ring mains supply. The MCCB's shall be complete with thermal/magnetic 17

protective relays. One MCCB shall also be equipped with a motor operated closing mechanism to close automatically upon availability of voltage on its incoming and trip immediately after the loss of voltage. The circuit shall be fitted with all necessary relays to fulfill the above operation. The other MCCB shall be operated manually only. - 4 Nos. of starters for motor operated valves complete with contactors, controls and protective devices (pump suction, discharge, circulation and vent valves supplied by others). - 1 No switch fuse for supply of the internal loads (Ventilation, air conditioning, lighting, etc.) of the container specified in Para 19.4.4. - 1 No switch fuse for supplying 380v, 3 phases, 15 Amps. 0.8 P.F., load (for purchaser's use). - When turbo-pump is in service and is running disconnection and reconnection of external AC supply should have no effect on unit operation. 19.4.4 Container 19.4.4.1 A container shall be provided by Vendor to house the local control and electrical panels, AC/DC no break system and two battery sets. Container will be installed within a distance of 20 meters from turbo-pump set. 19.4.4.2 Battery room shall be separated from control room inside container. 19.4.4.3 The container shall be equipped with a fresh air supply system consisted of an air intake ducting two fans (one standby) and automatic controls to ensure container air pressure in excess of surrounding area. Means for automatic changeover to the standby fan shall be provided upon failure of the operating fan. The fresh air system shall be complete with all necessary filters, alarms, etc. 19.4.4.4 Container shall be designed with regard to climatic conditions specified in NOM-011 in such a way to classify the interior as safe area and conditioned for human comfort. 19.4.4.5 Container shall be equipped with effective fire extinguishing system with smoke and rate of rise heat detectors.
