0. INTRODUCTION To satisfy the requirements of this NIOEC Specification, Iranian Petroleum Standard IPS-MGN-350 with the modifications as specified herein after shall be strictly followed. Articles 0 through 4 of this document replace entirely the related articles in the referenced IPS Standard. 1. SCOPE -This NIOEC Specification covers general requirements including design, construction, inspection, testing and other aspects of Gantry and Overhead Cranes top running bridge and top running trolleys. -This Specification shall be applicable for purchasing and furnishing of Overhead and Gantry Cranes. -This Specification covers general requirements for overhead and gantry cranes with a top running bridge of single or multiple girder construction utilizing a top running trolley, including polar, semi gantry and cantilever gantry for use in refinery/ oil plant, distribution depots, pump stations and pipelines. -This Specification shall be used in conjunction with individual crane data sheet. -Compliance by the crane manufacturer with the provisions of this Specification does not relieve him of responsibility of furnishing crane and accessories of proper design, mechanically suited to meet guarantees at specified service conditions. -No deviations or exceptions from this Specification shall be permitted without the written prior approval of Employer. -Intended deviations shall be separately listed by the Vendor and supported by reasons thereof for Purchaser consideration. 1.1 Conflicting Requirements In the case of conflict between documents relating to the inquiry or order, the following priority of documents shall apply: - First priority Purchase order and variations thereto. - Second priority Data sheets and drawings. - Third priority This Specification. All conflicting requirements shall be referred to the Purchaser in writing. The Purchaser will issue confirmation document if needed for clarification. 2. REFERENCES Throughout this Specification the following dated and undated standards/ codes are referred to. These referenced documents shall, to the extent specified herein, form a part of this Specification.

For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any supplements and amendments) applies. For dated references, the edition cited applies. The applicability of changes in dated references that occur after the cited date shall mutually be agreed upon by NIOEC and the Vendor/Contractor.
