Poem :Farmyard

Little hen yellow beak, bodily red pecking round for scraps of bread.

Little goat fierce and brown with its sharp, grey horn.

Little calf cute and shy peeking out with one brown eye.

Little cat orange and clean crawling so it wont be seen.

Practice (20 minutes)

1. To produce a mask

1.

Pupils are divided into four groups representing different types of animals.

Paper plates A4 papers with the parts of the animals faces String Feathers Scissors Glues Cotton wool Magic pens

Each group is assigned with a stanza and they are asked to practise their respective stanza.

3.

Pupils are asked to decorate the paper plate and produce a mask.

Production (15 minutes)

1. To perform the poem with their animals actions while wearing their respective masks

1. Each group takes turn to perform their part of the poem with appropriate actions while wearing their masks.

Closure (5 minutes)

1. To instill the moral values 2. To close the lesson

1. Pupils read the whole poem again. 2. Teacher discusses values such as love the animals.
