Novo Nordisk Inc. invited IMS Health to undertake a business requirement gathering and technical design activities with the key objective defined as supplying Novo Nordisk with options and ultimately a set of recommendations on the optimal way to re-architect its existing Marketing Effectiveness Reporting platform. A new Marketing Effectiveness Subject Area has been created to provide users access to the various in-scope data sets. This single subject area contained all of the data sets and dimensional attributes to minimize confusion and enhance supportability. Responsibilities: Gathered the business requirement, completed the proof of concept, Designed, Developed and Tested Physical Layer, Business Model and Mapping Layer and Presentation Layers of OBIEE using OBIEE 10.1.3.4. Utilized OracleBIAnalyticsApps 7.9.6 vanilla rpd to create pharmaceutical marketing effectiveness metadata, hierarchies (product, time), Variables, Initialization blocks. Configured Analytics Metadata objects (Subject Area, Table, Column), Web Catalog Objects (Dashboard, Pages, Folders, Reports) for Marketing Effectiveness Data Mart. Designed and developed the ETL Mappings for the source systems data extractions, data transformations, data staging, movement and aggregation using Informatica 8.6.1.

The following Internal(Finance, Forecast) and External data sets(Relational Data Model (RDM) defined by IMS Health Inc.) have been considered as part of the implementation- NPA Monthly (RDM), NPA Weekly (RDM), NSP (RDM), Finance (SAP/BW), Forecast NSP, Xponent Monthly, Finance Xponent Monthly (PDR/Phoenix), Xponent Weekly (PDR/Phoenix), LRx Weekly Custom Files, CAM, IPS(RDM). RDM audits includes (NPA/NSP/IPS), Xponent(Monthly/Weekly) data pulled via Phoenix/PDR, Finance/Forecast data was provided by NNI team, LRx data was provided by IMS via flat files. OM integration is based on tying back all product codes that exist within the data sets to a specific form/strength within OM. Data validation queries have been created as part of system test. Based on Novo Nordisk hierarchy, the user roles that were provided in the current phase are: Marketing Effectiveness Power Users, Marketing Effectiveness Finance Users. As there were few user groups Security to access Marketing Effectiveness DataMart was implemented at the rpd level using Security Manager. Testing was handled via TIMS, with the following approach: Record count file will be matched against number of records loaded into staging table for RDM files. Validation queries will be utilized to match data existing in staging tables and final fact tables. All new reports were based off of existing pivot tables as provided by the Marketing Effectiveness team. DAC was not utilized for scheduling of data loads, instead windows scheduler and batch files utilized for calling the Informatica mappings. Used SMTP to send emails to inform users about success or failure of Informatica loads. Created mappings using Joiner, Lookup, Router, Sorter, Filter, Expression transformations to load data from different sources into Marketing Effectiveness Data Mart. Utilized TOAD tool to create staging and final fact, dimension tables in the target schema according to the business requirements Created alias tables in the rpd to populate WC_ME_LOV_D for different fact tables like NPA Specialty, LRx Territory type, CAM Channels, etc. Created single subject area to contain all of the data sets and dimensional attributes to minimize confusion and enhance supportability as per the business requirement. The project involved extracting data stored in different databases such as Oracle and to load finally into the data warehouse repository, which is in oracle. The data used for generating reports was sourced from Oracle and flat files using Informatica. The reports were generated and delivered to users using Siebel analytics and Oracle Business Intelligence. Responsibilities: Extensively involved in requirement gathering and Business Analysis using the Usecases, functional specifications and business rules.
