1)MD110 ARCHITETURE
MD stands for MODULAR DISTRIBUTED IT is a UNIX based system ASB 501 04 is the marketing name of MD 110 The ASB 501 04 is built up using two superior types of units, namely Line Interface Modules, LIMs, and a Group Switch, GS. The LIM is a microprocessor controlled unit that can be equipped with any combination of line circuits and other telephony devices. Each LIM has its own control system and switch, and can function as an autonomous PABX or as an integrated part in a larger system. The capacity of a LIM in normal traffic conditions is approximately 20-640 extensions To build larger systems, the LIMs are interconnected via a Group Switch and 32 channel PCM (Pulse Code Modulation) lines for traffic and control procedures. Two LIMs can be interconnected directly, whereas the Group Switch is required in larger systems

Computer Telephony Integration. This is the overall term used to describe telephony solutions like Voice Mail, Call Centers, IVR, Fax on demand, etc. This is the computer to which the serial link from the PBX is connected and where PCServer software would be running. This PowerConnect software program is the Server software that needs to be continuously running on the computer to which the serial link from the PBX is connected for any of the products or solutions described in this document to work. This application program keeps a check on PCServer operations, and when a problem occurs, it rectifies the fault or re-starts the PCServer software or re-boots the computer, to ensure high availability of all CTI operations. Getting Ready to Install

What you need
A computer for VM to run on Dialogic voice cards MD110 PBX Serial link cable to connect the PBX to the VM computer PowerConnect software package, including media CD, hardware license, Getting Started sheet

VM Computer Specification
Ensure a good quality, branded PC. Exact specs depend on system size, but following is minimum for an 8 port system: PentiumIII, 800 MHz, 256 MB RAM configuration. For higher configuration at least 512MB RAM is required). 10 GB hard disk color monitor, Keyboard, Mouse CDROM Drive, 1.44 MB floppy drive Sound card, Mike 2 serial ports, 1 parallel port, LAN card (if network services are required) Free full-length PCI slots (exact number dependent on the number of Dialogic cards in the system). Operating system must be W in NT 4.0, 2000, or XP with latest service packs

Pre-Install Steps & Confirmations

Ensure that the operating system of the VM computer is correct. Ensure that the Dialogic that you are using is a D4/PCI, D41JCT, D120JCT or VFX. If using any other card please confirm with Amdale before installing. Install the Dialogic card in the PCI slot of the VM computer. Do not install Dialogic drivers from the CD accompanying the Dialogic card, as PowerConnect setup will automatically install the correct driver for you.
