INGGERIS SK KERTAS 2 SECTIO N A WEAKNESSES 1. Lack of vocabulary. e.g. nouns and verbs. 2. Memorizing sentences drilled by the language teacher. e.g. unable to express the ideas in their own words. 3. Constructing sentences without understanding the meaning of the words given. e.g. wrong word used. 4. The sentences were written in the form of a story. e.g. 1. Last Sunday,Puan Aini went to the shop with her family. 2. They saw many toys. . 5. Irrelevant ideas to the stimulus given. e.g. The boy is sitting on the chair. (bench) 6. Inappropriate use of similes and adjectives e.g. The pretty gorgeous lady. ( In the illustration, the lady does not look gorgeous.) 7. Omitting verbs- to- be when using the Present Continuous Tense. e.g. The boy standing.. SUGGESTIONS Introduce the relevant vocabulary pertaining to the topics. Pupils should be taught to apply the language. Do parallel writing .

Do not use words if pupils do not understand.

Stern reminder.

Alert the pupils to be observant.

Avoid using inappropriate similes and adjectives.

Frequent grammar practices.

8. Using while without a complement. e.g. The boy is standing while smiling. 9. Over congested ideas in the sentence. e.g. The pupils are as busy as a bee cleaning the storeroom until spick and span. 10. Repeated ideas in the subsequent sentences.

Pupils should be taught the usage of while correctly. Pupils should organize their ideas before writing.

Do not repeat the ideas or use the same word in the subsequent sentences.

WEAKNESSES 1. Punctuation Marks Eg. Capital M 2. Singular / Plural spelling 3. Mismatched key points for choices. 4. Spelling - Transfer spelling wrongly Eg. freind 5. Illegible handwriting Eg. a /u /o y /g / f/t l / I ( small L and Capital I)

SUGGESTIONS Remind the pupils to be careful in writing.

SECTIO N 2B

WEAKNESSES 1. Memorising sentences only but pupils cannot express themselves using their own words. Eg. Stereotype answers Goldfis h fish RM 5 each

SUGGESTIONS Encourage pupils to think out of the box. Eg. I would choose goldfish because rearing fish is my hobby. Keeping fish is my hobby since I was a little girl.

The category is fish. The cost is RM 5 each.

2. Pupils could not give logical reasons. e.g. It is reasonable and affordable. 3. Elaboration on the reason for key point is lacking. This deprives pupils of getting higher bands.

Allow pupils to elaborate their own thoughts rather than following the sample answers given. Encourage the pupils to use conjunctions .. Eg. because, so, and, but etc.

SECTIO WEAKNESSES N 3 1. Pupils do not understand the storyline pertaining to the stimulus given. 2. Lack of creative writing. 3. No coherence between the paragraphs. 4. Memorized and drilled introduction. 5. Wrong used of similes, proverbs idioms and vocabulary. 6. Using mixed tenses

SUGGESTIONS 1. Emphasize the teaching of grammar especially on tenses. 2. Get pupils to think out of box and do creative writing. 3. Encourage pupils to do extensive reading. 4. Conduct parallel writing in the lesson. 5. Conduct brainstorming session to elicit ideas from pupils. 6. Guided writing should be introduced in the lesson. 7. Pupils are encouraged to do Process Writing.
