What is Steganography

Steganography is a method to hide your secret data behind any computer file like images, musics, videos and in even executable file. So that you can send your personal or secret or important information in this way so that no-one can read this information except the receiver, if he has the private key to unhide the file.

Why do we use steganography

Consider a scenario that you have send a secret information to your friend and as you know that hackers are always there to catch this type of information so if he gets this information than their will be a big problem for us because hacker can misuse your secret information. In order to bypass from third party and you want your information to be safe, in this case steganography comes in role. You can use steganography method to hide your data behind computer files like music and videos and etc. Best

How to do steganography
Step-1: Download the s-tool from above link. Step-2: Open the tool and you will see something like this

Step-3: Now you have to drag and drop the image which you want to send to your friend. Step-4: After drag and drop the image you will see something like this

Note: This tool is only use the image whose extension is .bmp
Step-5: Now drag the file which you want hide behind this image Step-6: After drag and drop of a file which you want to hide you will look something like this..and it will directly ask to enter your pass phrase

Step-6: Enter your pass phrase which will be your private key. Step-7 Now right click on that image and save the image where you want and you are done to send this file.

As you can see that a new image created hidden.bmp which is exactly look like the original image.

How to reveal the hidden file

Now if you want to revel the file or to see the hidden file than simply follow the steps.

Step-1: Open that image in S-tools Step-2: Right click on that image and click on REVEAL. After that it will ask for passphrase. Step-3: Enter the correct passphrase and you will see the hidden file.

What is Stegnomp3
Stegnomp3 means stegno for steganography and mp3 is a music file so it means that do steganography and hide the data behind mp3 file. As we all know guys that mp3 is also in big demand by people who listen music in free time and most people cannot guess about hidden data behind the mp3 file. So if any third party people can get this file than it will not reveal the data as it will ask for passphrase as we saw earlier.

How to do stegnomp3
If you want to hide your file behind mp3 than do the following steps.

Step-1: Download the tool mp3stegz and open it you will see something like this

Step-2: Now click on the Select Source mp3. Here you have to select the mp3 file.

Step-3: Now click on Select Hidden File. Here you have to select your txt file which you want hide behind mp3 file.

Step-4: Now you can see that something is written in password and in confirm password, delete that password and enter the new one of your choice.

Step-5: Now as you can see the big button Hide it! click on that and you are done.

As you will click on Hide it! it will save your file where your mp3 file is saved and as you can see the path in below image.

How to unhide the file from mp3

It is very easy to unhide the data from mp3 file just follow the steps:

Step-1: Open the tool mp3stegz Step-2: Click on the option Select Stegged-mp3

Step-3: Now select the file from which you have to unhide the data.

Step-4: Click on open Step-5: Now just click on Reveal! and your done.
