    How to create and setup a Standard TCP-IP Port?


    Information Level: 4

    (2 = Semi-confidentional, Minolta-QMS, internal use only, 3 = Service Partners/Distributors/First Line usage only. 4 = General Information, may be send to end-users.)

    Printer involved: Operating system:

    Minolta-QMS Printers Windows 2000 and XP.

    We assume that the driver of the printer is already installed, if this is not the case then please install the driver first. Please see the user guide for instructions on this. Please go to Start -> Settings -> Printers (XP users: go to Start -> Printers and faxes) Then right mouse click on the printer icon and go to the driver properties. Then go to ports and click on the button Add new port

    Then the following screen comes up:

    Then click at the button with New Port and the following screen comes up:

    Then click at the button with Next and the following screen comes up:

    Printer Name or IP Address: Fill in the IP address of your printer without leading zeros. (.6 instead of .006)

    Then click on the button with Next and the following screen comes up:

    Click Next Then the following screen comes up:

    Now click Finish to complete the Add Port Wizard. In case it doesnt work then please go to Ports and select Configure Port and check the settings with the list below.     Please leave LPR Settings and SNMP Status Enabled unchecked! After filling out the correct settings click OK and Apply to save the changes. Magicolor 2 Desklaser: Open the driver properties and change the port protocol to RAW and set the port number to 35.
