Social Responsibility
“Then the Lord God formed man
of dust from the ground, and breathed
into his nostrils the breath of life;
and man became a living being.”
(Genesis 2:7)
God created man—mankind, all
of humanity, and gave us life. He also
set the family up as the institution to
reproduce life. Unfortunately, we—man,
the scientific community, seek to duplicate
God’s work. This is the case with human cloning.
If you would like to learn more about this issue, and join
with others to encourage Iowa legislators to reinstitute a ban
on human cloning, stop by one of the tables in the foyer this
morning and sign the petition. This is a small step in the area of
being Socially Responsible and a way to allow your worldview
to impact your world.

What a GEM!
Yes, that’s our Great Expectations Ministry. This
group was organized a few years ago to provide
support and encouragement to expectant parents in
our church. Team members make hospital or home
visits to new babies and the team hosts a reception
for families in conjunction with Parent/Child
Dedications. As well as rejoicing with those who
rejoice, they also are available to weep with those
who weep in the loss of a child.
We are eager to make our GEM shine even more
brightly. If God has gifted you with a passion for
babies and young parents or with creative ideas for
such a ministry, please consider joining the team.
This might be just where God is nudging you to
serve. Come check out this ministry opportunity
on Monday, March 10 at 7:00pm in room 108. We’ll
be brainstorming, dreaming and planning for a
sparkling GEM future!

June Jam 2008

There will be a citywide effort to have a Christian music
concert every day of June again this year. Do you have a talent
that you would like to share? Music (solos or groups), comedy,
drama, magic acts or just people to go and help with set ups and
clean ups are all needed. Let’s start planning now how FFC can
be involved in this outreach to our community.
