The Excitation system includes several bought-out/imported items such as power cables, excitation transformer and other cables etc. Procurement of these items can be done only after approval of design by the Purchaser. The specified duration of 24 weeks is very less for completion of all activities like design, drawing, logic etc approval from Purchaser, procurement from sub-vendors, assembly, shop testing, shipment etc. Considering all these, we request delivery period of 12 months from zero date. Bid query As this is a R&M job, materials get dispatched at different time periods. Ensuring the availability of our authorized representative for unloading whenever materials reaches site has many logistical problems. It is not practical to construct storage building and also to open a site office for such R&M jobs. Considering these facts, we request KPCL to provide covered storages and include unloading of materials at site, store in a secured place with storage cum erection insurance in KPCLs scope. -

KPCL Reply a) KPCL agrees for storing the materials free of cost in KPCL stores located at Jogfalls , the entire responsibility of transportation, applicable Insurance, loading unloading and its security lies with the agency. Permission to store at KPCL store will only be allowed. Consignee in this case is : Goods shall
be booked duly packed and forwarded on freight paid basis in the name of Executive Engineer (Material Stores & Purchase), Sharavathy Hydro Electric Project, Karnataka Power Corporation Ltd., Jog falls -577435, Shimoga Dist., Karnataka. Transportation of materials from Jog falls to site of Bhadra HEP during erection is in the scope of the Contractor.

We understand that, the excitation continuous current is 395A and voltage is 220V DC. Please confirm. If not, we request Purchaser to provide Generator Excitation rated voltage and current at rated load. Constructional Features of BHEL is a regular manufacturer Cubicles, Painting and Small of excitation system and other control cubicles and we Wiring manufacture >6000 cubicles per year. We have a proven plant standard for painting of cubicles. Also, various types of cable/cross sections are used for internal wiring depending upon system requirement which shall be decided during detailed engg. Hence, all cubicle construction, painting & wiring shall be as per BHEL product standard. We request Purchaser's acceptance for the same. We confirm that, this will not, at any case, disturb the functionality of the proposed Excitation System

M/s BHEL standard of constructions & product standards are acceptable. However, Thickness of painting shall not be less than 60-70 microns and shall be as per bid specification. Materials of the panels shall be cold rolled steel plate of 2.5 mm for load bearing, 3.0 mm for gland plate & 2.0 mm for other sections including door.

Bid query A&B) Please confirm that we can propose aluminium cables for connection between Generator terminal & Excitation Transformer. We confirm that, aluminium cables are adequate for such lower rating machines. C)Please provide us lengths of cables required to be supplied for connection between i) Excitation Transformer and Generator Bus Duct, ii) Field Breaker to Slip rings and iii) SEE panels to Control Room. We request Purchaser to provide these data as the bid price widely depends on this.

As per site conditions, the location of static excitation transformers is considered adjacent to the existing 11KV cubicle and static excitation panel to be located in place of existing AVR panel. Hence, the approximate distances between the cubicles are as follows: a) Excitation transformer and existing 11 KV cubicle is 10 mtrs (approx.) b) static excitation transformer and static excitation panel is 20 mtrs (approx.) c) static excitation transformer and control room is for Unit#1: 100 mtrs & Unit#2: 120 mtrs (approx.) d) static excitation panel and control room is for Unit#1: 110 mtrs & Unit#2: 130 mtrs (approx.). e) field breaker & slipring: 15 mtrs (approx.) We are unable to understand Clarified and bid specification the requirement. Please clarify. prevails. All the parameters of excitation system shall be supportive for operation/ control from control room/ remote area.

Schedule -19

All the routine tests shall be conducted as per IS or relevant standards. Temperature rise test shall be conducted at works. In case of Partial discharge test, test report for similar equipment is acceptable. Rotor Temperature Specify make Rotor temperature indicator & measurement: recorder shall be of reputed make. However, same shall be got approved during detailed engineering. Declaration of Method of Method of Payment of Service Softcopy of Schedule-19 i.e. Payment of Service Tax Tax Declaration of Method of Payment of Service Tax is uploaded herewith. The same shall be duly filled & uploaded alongwith the bid & this forms part of the bid.
