Pipe identification labels shall be located to be readily seen from accessible walkways, platforms, etc. In general, markings shall be located as follows: On a straight pipe runs at maximum internals of 15 meters. Adjacent to all changes in direction. At branches. Where pipes pass through walls, floors or ceilings.

* Background painted field shall be 100 mm x 455 mm minimum. 2.3 Paint Materials A. Carbon Steel Pipes shall be painted according to Specification for Painting 4635-6-SPC-034. Other materials pipes shall be painted with appropiate paints and surface preparation for those materials. All paint thinners and catalyzing agents shall be the produced by the same manufacturer. No thinners, unless otherwise specified by the manufacturer, shall be added to improve the spreading characteristics of the paint for brush application. Shop painted items shall be supplied with sufficient primer and top coat to meet the touch up requirements in the field.
