Quick Start Guide


This guide gets you started with a typical installation for IBM WebSphere QualityStage Module for Address Verification Interface.

Product overview
IBM WebSphere QualityStage Module for Address Verification Interface provides comprehensive address transliteration, parsing, and validation, available in selected packages against postal reference files for over 240 countries and territories.

Step 1: Access your software and documentation


If you download your product from the IBM Passport Advantage site, follow the instructions in the download document at www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24015734 This product offering includes: v Quick Start Guide v IBM WebSphere QualityStage Module for Address Verification Interface for Microsoft Windows, Linux, or UNIX operating systems, and release notes v Postal validation APIs This module requires IBM Information Server Version 8.0.1.1, which includes IBM WebSphere QualityStage. Read the release notes before you install the module.

Step 2: Evaluate your hardware and system configuration

The WebSphere QualityStage Module for Address Verification Interface has the same hardware and system configuration requirements as IBM Information Server 8.0.1.1. Step 3: Review the base architecture


The following diagram shows the basic deployment for an installation that is distributed across two computers. Computer A contains the IBM Information Server client and documentation. Computer B runs Windows Server 2003, Linux, or UNIX operating systems and contains the domain, metadata repository, and engine. Install the client component of the module on the same computer on which the IBM Information Server client is installed. Install the server component of the module on the same computer on which IBM Information Server is installed.

Step 4: Log in to the system


On Windows systems, log in as an administrator or as a user with administrative privileges. The administrator must be a local operating system administrator. On Linux or UNIX systems, log in as the root user.

Step 5: Install the module


Choose one of the following methods to install IBM WebSphere QualityStage Module for Address Verification Interface: v Graphical user interface v Console mode After you install the module, install the postal validation APIs.

Step 6: Start the IBM Information Server DataStage and QualityStage Designer
On the Windows computer where you installed the clients, click Start > Programs > IBM Information Server > IBM WebSphere DataStage and QualityStage Designer and log in to the Designer client with your suite credentials. The Address Verification stage is in the Data Quality category in the Designer client palette.
