Science UPSR: Answering Techniques For Section B

Today we are going to learn the techniques of answering questions in section B. First of all we need to do is to really understand the question (what it really want). We have to know the KEY WORD. So remember, QUESTIONING = KEY WORD (kata kunci) Now we need to determain all information below: what to change / WTC (manipulated variable) what to observe/ measure/ WTO(responding variable) what to keep the same / WTS (constant variable) With all information gathered above, we need to know: the aim the purpose what to find out and investigate the relationship between (WTC) and (WTO) Lets we learn more on the RELATIONSHIP, how we are going to answer the questions: The more/ The lesser WTC, the more/ the lesser WTO. If WTC increase/ decrease, WTO increase/ decrease. TREND: increase; decrease; constant; Increase and decrease; Decrease, increrase and decrease. We come down to HYPOTHESIS section, predict what will happen.
OBSERVATION - what can Another OBSERVATION Inference And lastly give reason

Make a CONCLUSION base on your: you say

Example: A student carries out an investigation to find out the time taken to dry a piece of cloth which has been folded. The table below shows result of his investigation. Number of times the cloth being folded 1 2 3 4 Time taken to dry the cloth / minutes 45 75 100 120

what is changed Number of times the cloth being folded what is observed Time taken to dry the cloth What is kept the same Type of cloth / Size of cloth before experiment What is the aim of the investigation? To investigate the relationship between the number of times the cloth being folded and the time taken to dry the cloth. What is the relationship between the number of times the cloth being folded and the time taken to dry the cloth The more the number of times the cloth being folded, the more the time taken to dry the cloth. What is the trend of change of the time taken to dry the clothes? Increase Predict the time taken to dry the clothes if the number of times the cloth being folded is 5 135 minutes Write a hypotheses for the investigation above. The more the number of times the cloth being folded, the more the time taken to dry the cloth. What can you conclude from the investigation above. THE TIME TAKEN TO DRY THE CLOTH INCREASE AS THE NUMBER OF TIMES THE CLOTH BEING FOLDED INCREASE What can you say about the time taken to dry the cloth when the number of times the cloth being folded is 4? 120 minutes The most / the longest time taken to dry Write an inference for your answer in (h). It takes time to evaporates. It evaporates the slowest. It is the thickest.
