Erase Barriers to Lifetime Pay Equity Create a city-funded NYC Paid Family Leave plan, giving workers up to $470 a week
while they care for newborn or newly adopted children, or tend to sick family members Drop all city lawsuits against living and prevailing wage laws and change city policies to make living wage a requirement in more development deals Work with Governor Cuomo to enact the ten point NY State Womens Equality Agenda Provide sick leave to over 1 million additional workers, and make it illegal to fire any worker for taking a sick day by enforcing the Paid Sick Leave law

Make Childcare More Affordable and More Accessible to Give Better Options for Women Seeking to Join the Workforce
Create a Middle Class Child Care Tax Credit for families making up to $150,000 Provide childcare at Workforce1 centers to make it easier for parents to find good jobs Create an emergency diaper program to ensure that no child is turned away from daycare because his or her parents cannot afford diapers

Give Women Greater Access to Jobs and Economic Opportunity


Ensure more government contracts are awarded to local & women-owned businesses Make capital more available to small business owners Expand access to financial literacy programs for girls and women Strengthen non-discrimination laws related to pregnancy in New York City so that they explicitly require workplace accommodations that make it possible for women to maintain a healthy pregnancy and continue to effectively perform their jobs

Ensure Womens Safety Throughout our Communities


Make NYCHA housing more accessible to victims of domestic violence and human trafficking in need of safe and stable shelter Combat street harassment and assault through block by block safety improvements and a new smartphone app that provides real time reporting of harassment expanded personnel, training and resources

Make Vital Health Services and Education Affordable and Available to all New Yorkers
Combat teen pregnancy, reduce youth STI rates and prevent intimate partner violence with comprehensive health education in our schools Reduce maternal and infant mortality rates by ensuring access to benefits, home based programs for new mothers and reducing unplanned and teenage pregnancies Make New York City a national leader on access to reproductive healthcare by ensuring emergency contraception remains freely available in our hospitals, clinics and schools and access to clinics remains safe and transparent Reduce cervical cancer and spread of HPV by increasing HPV vaccination rates for young New Yorkers Remove barriers to screening and diagnostic mammography in public and private facilities, and ensure greater access to digital equipment Create a health planning commission to expand access to care in every neighborhood and protect our city's struggling hospitals Double the number of public schools with full School Based Health Centers Further reduce the incidence of childhood asthma by allowing doctors to prescribe home visits to help identify and reduce asthma triggers in the home Launch a pilot program eliminating co-pays for prescription drugs treating chronic disease
