What will you get out of it?

Successful delegates will be awarded a NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety. Holders of the award may also use the letters DipNEBOSH after their name. The National Diploma provides a basis for progression to MSc level, as well as enabling you to apply for graduate membership of IOSH (Grad IOSH) and membership of the International Institute of Risk Managements (IIRSM).

What does it cover?

The NEBOSH Diploma provides a sound knowledge of health and safety which, combined with understanding and appropriate application, underpins the competent performance of an Occupational Health and Safety Practitioner. The knowledge gained from the course is transferable across industry, commerce and the public sector. The qualification is divided into four units: Unit A: Unit B: Unit C: Unit D: Managing Health & Safety. Hazardous agents in the workplace. Workplace and work equipment safety. Application of health and safety theory and practice.

*Whilst it is not essential to have already completed a health and safety qualification, the NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety is the preferred foundation for this course.

Units A, B and C are assessed separately with written examinations. Unit D is assessed by a work -place assignment. Exams take place in January and July.

What can I expect from my Astutis remote learning course?

The NEBOSH Diploma distance learning course is centred around our full colour digital course notes which have been optimised with direct web links to the various reference sources. The course has been designed to guide the learner through the materials, exam questions, model answers and mock exam. Additional support from our designated diploma tutors will be offered as well as access to online discussion forums.

Webinars:
Delivered via Adobe Connect, a number of live, online, tutor-led interactive sessions will be offered alongside our remote learning courses. In total, 10 bite-sized topics will cover: Unit A (3 tutorials): Law, Human Factors, Fault Tree Analysis. Unit B (3 tutorials): Chemical Safety, Biological & Physical Agents, Muscoskeletal & Work Environment Risks. Unit C (3 tutorials): Fire, Work Equipment, Workplace transport. Unit D: A work-based assignment tutorial.
Webinars will require an internet connection (no less than 1Mb and preferably wired), Adobe Flash Player, headphones, microphone and webcam (optional) or an iPad with the Connect App installed.

E-Learning:
Our e-learning course is an interactive on -line learning solution accessed via our Award Winning cloud based LMS, Absorb. This course is based on a series of learning maps which take delegates right up to the exam in an engaging and interactive way.
