how impact works...

what is impact?
the goal of impact groups is simple: to create life long disciples of jesus christ by offering a small group built upon the power of christian fellowship, the study and application of the bible, supporting one another through prayer, and a mentoring relationship with a spiritually mature adult impact leader.

How can i help as a parent?

serve as a point parent: each group will have a point parent who will communicate with the group leader, the parents and students as to where Impact will be held that month and any other important info. serve as host parent: the host parent does just that: hosts impact in his or her home for a month, and helps with the transportation of students to and from the community center.

when and where does impact meet?

we meet on wednesdays from 6:30 to 7:30pm for a time of worship, fun, and bible teaching at the rhcc community center which is at 735 silver spur road in rolling hills estates. from 7:30pm-9:oopm students meet in their impact groups in homes all throughout the south bay to discuss the message, pray for each other, and have fun. on the rst week of most months, our students will have old school impact. these are weeks where there is no large group meeting at the community center, but instead an extended time with their groups in a home.

how are students placed in impact?

each student may list two friends that they would like to be placed within a group. there is no guarantee that we can accommodate those requests, however we do try to place everyone with at least one friend. secondly, we try to keep students in groups from the same high school.. nally, we have found that the healthiest groups are single sex and composed of all grades 9 through 12. thus, we do our best to not overload groups with one grade level.

What is the commitment?

Impact groups are a big commitment, and that is part of the reason behind their success. rst of all, students are expected to be there every week. When students miss impact, the entire group loses momentum. students who frequently miss impact may be removed health of the whole group. secondly, students who wish to be in an impact group must attend the rst hour bible study, so that they can be an active part of the discussion and application that occur within the group. impact is a commitment for parents, too. impact groups are not designed to replace parents, but to come alongside and help families raise students who love christ. the leader, student, and parents need to be communally committed to the impact group for it to truly succeed.

how do i sign up?

ll out and turn in the registration form and attach a picture of yourself. all students are required to submit a registration form regardless of their previous placement in an impact group. students who do not turn in a form will not be placed in a form will not be placed in a group. the cost is $40. all forms are due no later than august 28th.
