INTERNSHIP INFORMATION PACKET MINT is a 501(c)3 non-prot volunteer run arts organization dedicated to cultivating a stronger creative community in Atlanta and throughout Georgia. We engage emerging artists, patrons, and creative professionals by providing studio and exhibition space, curatorial opportunities, workshops and classes, conferences, and other resources. MINT believes that through these programs we foster a generous spirit, strengthen the regional economy, and enrich the creative community. MINT presents 8-10 exhibitions per year and hosts a variety of classes, lectures, concerts, and other programming both in and outside of the gallery. Interns will have general responsibilities at the gallery, as well as an area of focus these are: MINT Gallery (4 available) Events (2 available) Marketing (1 available) Outreach and Development (1 available) Design (1 available) Leap Year (1 available) We offer internships on a rolling basis to accommodate school requirements. Internships shall last for a period of no less than 4 months from starting date. General Responsibilities (all Interns) Staffing gallery hours (M-Sa: noon-8pm / Su: noon-6pm) Being available to assist with various other events and programming Facilitating the sale of artwork as needed Ensuring that the gallery is kept clean and presentable at all times Stocking supplies as they run low sodas, water, toilet paper, soap, etc. Maintaining a positive image of MINT within the community MINT Gallery Focus Assisting the Gallery Manager and Creative Director with installation and de-installation of exhibits Being available to show exhibits to patrons who cannot attend openings or visit during regular gallery hours Facilitating communication between artists and the gallery as necessary Assisting with the visual documentation of all gallery exhibitions Any other responsibilities as dictated by the Gallery Director and/or Executive Director Marketing Focus Assisting with the creation of press releases and other written material to promote events and programming Distributing this material to local, regional, and national press outlets as appropriate Assisting with updating email list includes both content and recipients Updating website content to include up-to-date information on exhibitions, events, press, etc. Updating social media including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram Developing additional press contacts and finding new marketing opportunities Any other responsibilities as dictated by the Gallery Director and/or Executive Director Events Focus Assist with in-gallery events opening and closing receptions, artists talks, classes, music events, yoga, etc. Assisting with MINT sponsored events that happen outside the gallery fundraisers, Leap Year Exhibition, Gather Atlanta, etc. Assist in the coordination of volunteers for events as needed Providing feedback to MINT staff on how better improve and expand the reach of events Any other responsibilities as dictated by the Gallery Director and/or Executive Director

Outreach and Development Focus Assisting the Executive Director in researching, writing, and applying for new grants on a monthly basis Researching new ways of promoting MINT's mission and events Maintain a list of grant opportunities and typical responses within our CRM Assisting with the development and launching of the Membership Program General to advanced knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software is desirable Any other responsibilities as dictated by the Gallery Director and/or Executive Director Design Focus Assisting with creation of calendars, flyers, and other print material Assisting with the development of branding for MINT sponsored exhibitions, events, programming, etc. Developing branding and marketing strategies for new and existing programming Updating website content to include up-to-date information and branding Assisting with the visual documentation of all gallery exhibitions Knowledge of design software including Photoshop and Illustrator is desirable Knowledge of WordPress and basic HTML is desirable Any other responsibilities as dictated by the Gallery Director and/or Executive Director Leap Year Focus Leap Year is our emerging artist mentorship program that provides space and support for three Atlanta area artists. Assisting Executive Director with various Leap Year responsibilities such as writing press releases, communicating with artists, etc. Coordinating studio visits with artists and various members of the community Assisting with planning and running Leap Year fundraising events Assisting with grant writing Coordinating and compiling evaluations throughout the program Any other responsibilities as dictated by the Executive Director Time Commitment: 10-15 hours per week during open hours including some weekend and late-night events for a period of no less than 4 months. Benets: Interns receive a 10% discount on artwork (excluding fundraisers and auctions). MINT offers college credit in exchange for internships; this must be arranged and approved by interns school and sponsoring professor. Reports to: Interns are supervised by and report to the Gallery Director and/or Executive Director Qualications and Skills Candidate must be self-motivated, have attention to detail, and follow instructions both written and verbal. Excellent verbal and written communication skill are a must. In addition, candidates must be able to perform the duties as described by their particular area of focus with a high degree of precision and professionalism.
