Standard Operating Procedure Acid Waste

Before Operation 1. 2. 3. 2.1 2.2 2.3 Operation 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Switch all the relevant dosing pump, dosing pump E, F, G, H and I to AUTO Switch all the relevant dosing pump, MX 3, 4, 5,6 and 7 to ON position Select the CF Feed Pump to be operated, Feed Pump A or B by switching selector switch to ON position. Ensure the inlet and outlet valve of the selected pump is open. Switch on the Chemical Package Feed Pump, A or B by switching selector switch to ON position The chemical treatment process is start (from EQ tank, chemical treatment tank 1, 2 & 3, clarifier, final pH tank and break tank) and discharge (drain). Note: 1. Make sure the water in final pH tank and break tank is not overflow. 2. If the water flow rate from EQ tank to break tank is higher than the discharge rate, adjust the flow rate from EQ tank to break tank by turn the control switch 3. Observe the operation of chemical dosing pump and pH meter. Make sure the pH setting and the chemical dosing is correct. If not, reset the setting Make sure that the pH controller, pH 3, pH 4 and pH 5 are functioning Make sure all the chemical tanks have sufficient chemicals for operation Chemical preparation TALK 10 % sodium hydroxide (caustic soda). Put a drum of 30kg caustic soda and top up to 300 liter with tap water TAD 10 % sulfuric acid. Put a drum of 25 kg sulfuric acid and top up to 250 liter with tap water. TFLOC Put 70 g of anioic polymer into the tank and top up with tap water. (full)

Note: 1. 2. 3. 4. If the pH is out of the limit setting, the particular dosing pump will automatically ON to dose the chemical to adjust the pH to the setting limit If the pH of Chemical Treatment Tank 1 is above pH 6.00, dosing pump E is triggered. If the pH of Chemical Treatment Tank 2 is below pH 8.02, dosing pump F is triggered If the pH of final pH tank is above pH 9.00, dosing pump G is triggered

Sludge Dehydration 1. 2. In a fix interval or when sludge is needed to be pumped out from the Sludge Thickener. Manually turn the Filter Press Feed Pump to ON position. Pressure will slowly increase when the filter press is filling up with sludge. Eventually the pressure will be built up to a limit where the diaphragm pump is unable to run. Manually turn OFF the switch when the Filter Press is full. 3. Proceed to remove the sludge cake from the filter plates

Maintenance 1) pH sensor 2) Carbon filter 3) Filter
